Hello and welcome!

Sarlona have a rich story of roleplaying guilds, roleplaying and events... But roleplayers have remained hidden and hard to find behind channels, guilds and private rp. The Sarlona RP Communty are looking to change that, our first step is presenting RP-Friday, an open and weekly RP-event.
Disclaimer: Earlier, someone attempted to hold open RP events every Sunday, but that did not work out so well. We will try again, but switch to Fridays which we find to be more suitable to most.

The goals of RP-Friday:

• Give the server open RP at least once a week.
• Help new players interested in RP to find other roleplayers.
• Promote RP on the Sarlona server.
• Have a good time.

What RP-Friday is about:
RP-friday is a weekly event on the Sarlona server. The RP community on Sarlona welcome you and your friends every Friday 6PM EST to open tavern-style roleplaying and events. Events may be everything from drinking contests to riddle-games to in-depth storylines.
The location may differ from time to time, but mainly we will stay at the Phoenix Tavern for RP-Friday.

Additional information:
If you want to be a Dungeon Master of the Sarlona RP Community, send a private message to this account.
A Dungeon Master will plan out events, storylines and the like for RP-fridays and/or server-wide storylines/events not related to RP-fridays. If you don't want to be a DM and just got some ideas, we are open to that as well! Feel free to send a private message.

The old one is dated and hardly used today, might as well make a new one, eh?
'sarlonarp' is an in-character channel, and it is "ICly" set in the Phoenix Tavern.
You are of course allowed to write out of character (ooc) too, but then you must use brackets to mark that you write ooc. For example: (Brb, grabbing a drink)

Just as an FYI-

I use the light version of the forum someone created and it looks like you have 3 blank posts. Playing with colored fonts is pretty risky these days since the forum is a mess and people are using many different stylesheets to make it palatable.

I know enough to highlight your post to be able to see it, but to a lot of people it's just empty space.

It turned out real nice with everything from rumors of assassination attempts around town to tasting roasted kobold. We had the event running for two or three hours, and it went quite well for being the first time!

Hopefully we'll see even more new faces the next time and possibly a more specific event will go down.. Maybe a server-wide plot? Stay tuned!

It's a lot to read here, you really don't have to read even close to all of it to get a grasp of roleplaying. Just scroll through it and pick up some tips n tricks is all!

A few tips that never grow old: Keep it simple. Don't steal the spotlight all the time. Don't set too many restrictions on your character. If you send the community account a PM we can talk further if you want.

The Sarlona RP Community invites every new and veteran RPer to join this special event on RP-Friday; The Hunt!!!

IC details:
The Towncrier walks by you and rings his bell:
"Hear, hear good citizens of Stormreach! The Hunt is on tomorrow at seven o'clock!...
The Hunt is hosted by the followers of Balinor once a year, to celebreate the Sovereign of Hunt and Horn.
A beast will be brought to Stormreach and let loose for you and others to hunt. Our Beast of the year is a Magical Ice Wolf! The Hunt will go down in the Hammersmith in House Deneith.."
The Towncrier keeps on walking up the street and you can hear his bell ringing and "Hear, hear..." in the distance.

OOC details:
6PM EST we gather at the Phoenix for some RP before we start. 7PM EST the hunt will start in the Hammersmith Inn, House D. A level 16 Druid will pose as the Beast, the winner is the one who can take down the beast 3 times put together. A Divine Caster will be disposed to raise/heal both players and the beast for each round. The winner will be awarded 50k plat and 'The Hunter(Huntress)' title in the community/in-character. More details when the event begins tomorrow!

Afraid there will be too little RP fun? Don't worry, we will gather at the Phoenix afterwards in a 'Victory Feast'!

Rules:
This is a PvP event, but other players can not kill other players, only stun/use crowd controll on others. To make it more fairplay, casters over level 10 cannot use metas.
Weapons cannot be over level 10.
Rangers or Arti cannot use Endless Fusilade or Manyshot if they are over level 10.
Insta-kill spells, ED's or AoE Damage spells are not allowed.
No Greensteel.
The Beast will send a tell to the announcer who killed him, no point in bickering.
You are allowed to bet on a hunter.

Hope to see as many hunters as possible! The winner will be announced here if he or she wish for it!

'The Hunt' and this weeks RP-Friday is over... Thanks for an amazing time yesterday! Good turn-out and some real hunting went down, bickering between competitors and many a hunter had to face the wrath of the Beast...

Winners and prizes:
1. Lurst(lvl22), winner of the Hunter title and 50,000 platinum pieces. He also recieved a Trophy, a deer skull with an arrow piercing the forehead.
2. Diosino(Lvl7), winner of 25,000! It was a close call, but he took the second place with elegance!
3. Last but not least, Soieas(Lvl20) took the 12,000 platinum prize!

That was our three champion hunters, the rest had to go home with only a few bruises and scratches to so show for.. Better luck next year, hunters!

Hello everyone!

This Friday, The Phoenix Taverns invites every adventurer to take a break from their dangerous journies and tireing quests with drinkings, feasts and a 'Game Night'!

The Game Night consists of different games such as:

Drinking contest!
- Based off of BASE CON.
- Starting DC 16.
- Every drink after will be 2+ to the DC (16 - 18 - 20 etc)
- Use the /roll command. /roll d20+(Insert CON modifier here)
- Rolling a 1 is instant loss.
- Feel free to place bets before the contest.

Phoenix Darts!
- Based off of BASE DEX.
- natural 1 is a miss. roll + modifier 2-10 is 5 points. 11 to 15 is 10 points. 16 to 20 is 15 points and a natural 20 is 25 points.
- Three rounds with three rolls each.
- Feel free to place bets beforehand.

Arm Wrestling!
- Based off of BASE STR.
- Natural 1 is instant lose, natural 20 is instant win.
- For each round, both players will roll d20+STR.
- If you roll the highest 3 times, you win.
- Feel free to place bets beforehand.

Stormreach '''Blackjack'''
- Pick a number between 20 and 30.
- Agree on a starter bet.
- Roll d10 three times. One roll is one round.
- For each round, the one with the higher roll can raise the jackpot.
- The other player can put down the dice and give up when ever he wants.
- The winner is the one who gets closest to the number you picked.

If you want to introduce any sort of game, you are of course allowed to do so! Riddles, other types of gambles and contests are all welcome. Would be nice if you could post them in this thread too!
Other than that the tavern will just be buzzing with adventurers introducing themselves to others, gaining new allies and maybe set out on an adventure? Come, find out this Friday!

And who actually runs/sponsors this? Is it a single guild, or a conglomeration of multiple guilds?
I only ask in case I needed to contact someone. About 2 or so years ago the Lonely Mountain Band in LOTRO did something similar, and I've been a member ever since.... so you never know

As of right now, it is primarily hosted by members of Roleplayers of Sarlona. Typically there are four or five of us from the guild who participate, and we've been getting at least a handful of walk-ons from the LFM. We will re-post the thread every week, and update it if we are hosting a specific event. We'll try to do specific events at least once a month.

We also post LFMs a couple times a week for open RP. Last night we had a very nice turnout at the Open Palm Inn, so keep an eye out for those

Hey all let me first apologize for a late bump for tonight's event. We've all been a bit busy with RL things; work, family, etc, but Friday is here and it's time for some RP!
