    Default Sting of the Ninja

I was testing the poison application of the weapon stance with handwraps.

The stance states that: Unarmed combat requires a set of handwraps for this to apply (as well as a way to deal piercing or slashing damage).

I have tested this on the kobolds in the dojo with both brawlers gloves(pierce dmg) and vorpal strikes (slash dmg), yet the ninja poison was never applied on crits.

Any idea what is going on?

    Find Ivy Wraps and test.

I think that the only way for the poison to apply is for the wraps themselves to have the piercing/slashing attribute.

IMO this is a bug as the description indicates that the requirement is handwraps PLUS way to deliver piercing/slashing. However, I expect the description to change rather than the bug to be resolved and for it to become handwraps THAT deliver piercing/slashing.

That is the easy fix. AFAIK it works with Ivy Wraps. (If I have a chance I'll go back and double check, but IIRC it was working for those.)

From my testing it works with Shuriken and Ivy Wrap's (which do piercing). I does not work with Vorpal Strikes (which supposed give slashing to handwraps) + Adamantine Wraps.

    Read by a QA!

The method of using brawling gloves to deal piercing damage is not actually appropriate, so the description is the bug in this situation, as it is not accurate enough!

What about Vorpal Strikes? Is that not working a bug? Seems like it is.

Shouldn't Vorpal Strikes AND Sting of the Ninja work together?

Pierce/Slash is granted by Vorpal Strikes and Sting of the Ninja work off Pierce/Slash....

    Seems like it would/should.

Don't want to bug again if it is not one, I'm sure you are busy enough without false reports.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

I've got a bug in about vorpal strikes, but i'm not personally aware of how it should work.

it's up to the Dev who gets the bug!

I would probably have the same situation for the Ravenger ring from ToD it does aply a 2d6 slash on attacks made by slashing weaps.. but even though it make sense that it would work with the Vorpal strikes.. it was stated by a dev a long time ago that this is WAY..

what i think is that is somehow hard for them to code such a thing and is a lot easier to say that is WAY for handwraps..

I really wish they had coded handwraps as tiny weaps that does bludgeon dmg and treat it as a normal weapon.. alot of problems would be solved..

i also remember they saying that once they changed the weapon dmg way to use W the handwraps would be fixed..

    dream sweet dream..

I don't like it, but this is consistent. Brawling Gloves have always restricted the piercing effect to the 1d4 piercing damage. They have never allowed the base attack to bypass as a piercing damage attack. That was confirmed as WAI when they first came out.

The cop-out if any was in the original design of the brawling gloves.

Vorpal Strikes on the other hand does bypass as a slashing weapon and IMO should work.
