    Default DDO fail

    Hi

I have a high end pc and my pc is so tomorrow updated with windows 64 bit

    Intel I7 3820 3,6 ghz CPU " 4400 mhz" clock
Sea Sonic Platinum Series 1000 PSU
    ASUS Rampage IV Formula MOBO
Samsung 1 tb HDD "DDO Installed"
    Intel SSD 120 GB " windows 7 ult 64"
    12 GB ddram 1600 mhz G SKILL
Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Flex OC - 3G

And i have no problems with any other games beside DDO game

I usualy play few hours every day, but when i start the client and type ind my password and press start, then the game loads fine until it shows up my character screen that some times take a while to to show but eventualy shows up,,some days it loads real fast and my character is shown before i even can blink my eye..then i press enter game and here i get the loading scren before teh real game starts....here the load screen hangs in long time and i can see the client program isent responding..but if i wait few minutes then it starts to load realy fast and im in the game....and if i am lucky then the game dont freeze or crash on other strange ways....

Some days this load screen also loads realy fast with no hang up or idle loads..like it should do.

I tried to reinstall DDO 5 times and jump 10 times and clap my hands 7 times while i yelles PIECE OF **** 1000 times !! I also tryed to give my pc mouth to hardware but that dident help...im just telling i have had it....im getting crazy from trying....call a voodo priest !

Try Wanesa's ddopreloader. It is a sweet fix.

I recently upgraded to a SSD and 12 GB of RAM and re-installed Windows 7 64-bit and DDO from scratch (I installed DDO on the SSD).

From character screen to in-game moving around is 10 seconds.

Before that DDO was taking a minute or two to go from character screen to in-game.

I don't know why DDO was so slow before though... None of my other games took as long to load (of course none of my other games were MMOs).

But a fresh clean Windows and DDO install does work pretty well.

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

Installing on an SSD seems to make a big difference in reliability for most people that have tried it. I'm too cheap to spring for an SSD myself, so I installed DDO on a 16 GB USB stick. I'm not getting 10-second load times, but I don't have the 5-minute wait/disconnect issue on login either.

Trying DDO on your SSD is really easy: just copy the entire Turbine folder from My Programs over to your SSD and make a new shortcut to the launcher on your desktop. You don't have to do a new download/install/update from the website.

How big an experience this game will be depends on what you want out of an MMO. DDO has awesome, active combat, resource management instead of cooldown management, instanced quests, and mind-boggling amounts of character customization options. If that appeals to you, you'll be here for a long time. Considering that it has one of the best free-to-play/premium/VIP structures I've ever encountered in a game, I think it's a very big experience.
