OK -- I'll take your word for it since this is my first time here. More than a few comments that this has happened multiple times before not withstanding.

I will have to disagree with those of the " It's beta so stop whining" point of view. The whole purpose of us being invited into the beta is to test the new content, report ingame bugs with the new (and often old) content, have a taste of the big changes in the game and how they affect gameplay and its balance. I would agree with you if what we were actually testing was whether we could actually get the client started, but that's not the case here.

What worries me most, is that it looks like the devs have absolutely no idea what the cause of this could be, much less how solve it. To me, KookieKobold's replies on this and other related threads (btw, thanks for the updates Kookie, even though they are so sparing), their attempts to solve this feel like my own non-expert attempts to troubleshoot various issues; I know some things work and might do the trick, but I have no real idea what the cause is and what is the best solution.

And don't forget that this has been going on since the begining of the beta weekends, if you look at the dates of the first posts regarding this error code. If you know there is a problem, don't go around inviting more people and hope for the best; either solve it and make sure this doesn't happen again, or just leave it be and work with the people that can actually get in the beta, otherwise you only cause more frustration and bitterness to your customers. I'm not going to start pointing fingers, but I will say that I am disappointed that this has been going on for so long unresolved like they don't give a ****.

Stop whining because it's not gonna do any good.

If it was an easy fix it would have been done by now. It's obviously not at this point.

Just suck it up, we don't really have a choice on this.

    Default Read the Bug reports

It does appear that those players that have loaded the game and played previous to this expansion are able to go to the backup folder and copy a working version of the turbine launcher . With that replacing the current version they get on and have a great time.

This is un expected because evidently they thought they fixed it. Does some one have a link to that website? "There I Fixed it"

Actually this is not the case for the WORLD STATUS : CLOSED problem it's an account problem not an installation problem. It's not recognising that I am VIP for some weird reason...

I've got the same problem as the majority of the others in this thread.. and this was with a working copy of Lama from a week or so before the current version. It updated when i tried to log in and there was the error message.

First let me say you should insert Toothless in your name because as it stands, it doesn't fit you. Next I'd ask if you've ever heard the saying "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? No? I thought not....well let me give you an example of how it works...

Joe the Hot Dog vendor sets up shop at a busy intersection and decides to cook up some out of date dogs for his unwitting customers. After selling them to a few people he notices a lot are throwing them in a nearby trash bin and a couple have even commented that they taste bad before merrily walking on there way. Joe's making a good profit and since he's not the most reputable of characters, continues the habit.
Later in the day he sells to a group of people who immediately upon biting into their dogs turn and start shouting obscenities and threats about reporting him to so and so all the while causing a scene making all the people around take note. Joe suddenly has an epiphany and decides his underhandedness will have dire results if he continues.

So yeah, lets all just whimper and praise and see where that gets us.

I understand your frustration as I too am unable to test the new content. Feel free to throw as many toys out the pram as you need to so you feel better. I, on the other-hand do not feel the need to do so as my love for the game and the amazing content it has brought me/us over the years.

I understand that in this day and age that everyone is quick to complain and gets angry about the little things in life.

However, getting stressed out about things that are out of my/your control accomplishes nothing and only serves to hurt me/you in the long run.
    (Stress causes many ailments!)

Sometimes, companies run into problems that are out of their control. (after-all we are all only human and flawed).

A bad company would be one that says they are not going to fix a problem and leaves it at that... However, I believe they (Turbine) are actually looking to remedy the problems they are encountering.

Lots of people threaten to leave the game at the slightest hiccup but never do...

That makes me wonder what the point in complaining in the first place was all about...???

Just smile, be happy and try not to worry about the little things.

We're actively working on this issue, and have been all weekend. We'll let you know when we believe the login issues are resolved.

From my point of view, I'm glad to find this in Beta rather than at the expansion launch. Thank you all for your reports, your logs and your emails.

I agree that it is better for it to happen in betta than expansion launch.

Does this have something to do with why myaccount.turbine.com is down?

    Probably...

I always thought it was an account issue as it is not recognising my vip status or my pre-purchases until i am actually logged into game.

Yes well my point is that it would have been nice to be told that the account page was coming down during this time. Bring the account page down without notice causes issues for many.

For the world Closed I think since the myaccount.Turbine.com is down my status has changed to Non-VIP and I don't see my pre-order. On Lamannia it shows in Status: Active.

I hope the account thing is fixed soon.

I'm sure it wont be for long.

Better to get the system fixed than to have lots of problems later on when it is live.
