Has anyone ever successfully completed the "jump off the glacier" objective?
Every time I try it, even with Featherfall on, I fall to my death and I don't get credit for completing it.
Anyone else have this same problem?
Umm...jumping off the glacier only means jump of that top platform to the lower tier (completing it gives some XP).
If you really jump off the side with no ground under you then - yea... you will die.
There's also a hidden snowman. Bonus points if you find him.

Old thread from preview server, but a search for some info on this quest brought me here--figure it still might bring others too. Despite lots of feedback here about the poor in-quest guidance regarding objectives, it doesn't appear this was improved when it went live. Still no warning the shrines will disappear (that cost me 6 major sp pots while soloing heroic elite), that you need to drop pillars, or how to get the "jump off glacier" optional. I did what seems perfectly reasonable--I jumped off the glacier, with FF on. Died, lost 10% xp. Didn't get optional xp either. That's just poor design.
It's otherwise a great map, and while these "quirks" can be discovered in advance by consulting forums and wiki, players shouldn't need to do that. A little tidying up inside the quest would be much appreciated.
PS: The Shadowfell/purple haze up there is blinding, and made my head hurt after a few minutes. I don't know if the intent was to make the edges of the glacier almost invisible, but that's the effect. It could use a little toning down.
Just ran this for the first time today (I took a long break from the game and am just getting around to some of the less popular quests). I was soloing it on epic normal as a rogue +cleric hireling and enjoyed the quest right up until the Shadowfell part, when the entire screen basically turns slightly different shades of purple. I fell to my death twice because I literally could not tell what was solid ground and what was not.
I was able to complete the quest, and loved pretty much everything except for that part. If/when I run this again (I probably will, it was fun) I will probably play with my graphic settings to figure out how to turn off that effect so I can see where the hell I'm going.
The only other issue is the fact that hirelings are too stupid to get out of the way when an assassin starts whipping the chain around, but that's not quest-specific.
You may know me as: Gannot, Gonnet, Gunnet, Ginnet, Gaxxat, Gennot, Gannut, Gxnnxt, Horseface, Izzayhay, Pailmaster, Artifactual, Gynnet and/or Barred. What? I like alts.
Since it's necroed anyway, I'm going to fully agree with this. A quest in a game should not leave people with an actual, physical headache. And I believe this poster because it has the same effect on me. Also, neon purple does NOT associate with shadows in my head. A nice grayscale would have a similar effect, make more logical sense with shadows, and not give people headaches (Or worse, for those who might be vulnerable to seizures and not know it yet).
