Hmm. Diplomacy can steer the mobs away from you if another player is near, giving a wizard a little breathing space to CC or whatever. Bluff can be used to pull mobs one at a time, which can be useful when soloing.

Diplo is probably the more general use skill for casters. Also a 40 diplo is needed for a good resolution when having Tea with the Queen (top tier6 ability from the Shiradi destiny - currently the best for an EE endgame wizard). Though you can get 40 diplo w/o ranks in the skill... just takes moar gear slots. (+20 epic diplo item, +6 excep cha skills item, +5 epic 5 levels, +4 GH, 20 CHA for +5 more).
You can usually solo pull mobs with a double range line spell if you're far enough away.
