Transfering Shard of Power to an alt

I tried an experiment to see if I could find a way to transfer a Shroud Shard of Power to an alt. I parked both toons close to the jewelry broker in the Marketplace. Then I logged on with the toon that had the shard and sold it to the broker. I immediately logged off and back on with the other toon. When I tried to buy it from the broker, I did not see it listed. Has anyone ever successfully used this method to transfer a Shard of Power to another toon? Do the brokers simply not show them for sale, even though they may buy them?

Brokers are buying the bound items, but those items do not appear in their sell list. It's pretty logical in fact, as else btc/bta wouldn't have any meaning.
I doubt there's any legit method to transfer the shards of power to alts.
