Default Why did you nerf Tarlov?

He was the only decent hireling... not anymore.

he was better than the gimpy owlbear so he had to be nerfed, it was easier that way than buffing the owlbear

Not exactly sure what they nerfed. He seems to be doing less damage (especially crits) and taking MORE damage.

This might be because they took away his Red Dragonscale Armor and gave him a Spider-Spun Caparison Outfit.

Not 100% sure... but he probably lost 10 Seeker and some PRR because now he is wearing an outfit instead of light armor.

They also changed his helm (what is the black ninja looking helm?) and who knows what other gear. For anybody that uses him a lot when solo'ing content... you will notice a big nerf.

Too bad, his higher than expected damage made up for the fact that he spends a lot of time swinging at the air.

I tested Tarlov in the Stormhorns, is there a reason you are teaching players to use cloth armor when they are proficient in light armor? Is he getting changed to a monk or is a Hide of the Goristo not working correctly for hirelings?

Hirelings' armor has not changed. The change is that they now wear cosmetics now on top of it.
They're the exact same cosmetics players can use- they do not affect the hirelings' stats in any way.

Unless the fact they are wearing cosmetics in the contract buying information at the vendor,
Or there is a way for a player to examine others to see gear and outfits,

I suggest that hirelings NEVER wear cosmetics lest you create more issues like this which waste QA time. Sure, they may be a favorite character of a developer somewhere, but thems the breaks when the game pays your paycheck.

Not directed at you, unless this was your idea and implemented it but two words:

    Time management.

If only his command bar would be amended too... hes a melee guy, why on earth does he have a ranged stance on there? Change the bar to FoM, healing spring & CSW, then frankly i wouldn't really care if he loses 30% damage
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

When i ran with my Hire-Party through EN storm horns, Tarlov and the rogue (forget name) survived the longest without heals; deffinently not nerfed, and as an asside; all (most anyway) hirelings now use cosmetic armors, but have the same stats as before.

How come I can cast Fire Resist on Tarlov now?

Before the update, he had red dragon armor and when I would cast fire resist... nothing would happen.

There have been some more questions about the hireling nerfs on the general forum so I thought I would ask this question again...

If Tarlov's gear changes were just "cosmetic" like Feather of the Sun posted... how come I can cast fire resist on Tarlov now?

Before the update/nerf, when I would cast fire resist on Tarlov, it would not be listed when you examine him (because Superior Fire Resistance on his Red Dragon Robe would override any lower level resist spell).

Now when I cast fire resist on him, it sticks (it is listed as a buff when you examine him).

might want to ask Fram. he is the hireling expert and hes now on the council. im sure his input will change hires in the future and I know Producer Rowan talked about improvements to hires in DDOCast.

You are the one choosing not to play alts.

Casual player now investing way less than I used to into the game, playing 1-3 months at a time and still want nothing to do with Reaper. #improvepuggrouping#alldifficultiesmatter
