    Default auguments

realy love the new skill auguments they will help with configuring items into fitting in with other gear, i have only few things about OLDer auguemtns though, first all stat augs are few levels higher ml than the ones you can get on random items, it kills their usefullness on the way up the levels, getting +6 item on or 16 cant remember now, when the randoms start at 11, so maybe bit change of rules about it would be in order and instead of such big gap there could be 1 lvl distance between augument ml and random items 12 instead of 16 for +6, second thing are the spell power red auguments, could they be made to fit into either colorless or yellow slots aswell? them being only red slot variants reduces their usefull also, especialy becouse most of caster weapons have spellpower on them.

So skill augments goes into a red slot? That's terrible. If it was yellow I understand because that kind of follow that type of slot, but red? What a horrid way of limiting an augment.

Few skills comes on weapons/scepters - most come on items. All items except shields have either blue or yellow augment slots. Someone need to rethink this.

Actually, according to the release notes:

    • Colorless Skill Augments:
      • Level 4
        • +3 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 8
        • +5 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 12
        • +7 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 16
        • +9 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 20
        • +11 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 24
        • +13 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 28
        • +15 Bonus to Skil

Haven't actually seen one - but should be diamonds.

Also do agree on the levels... the item already is taking a level hit just for having the slot. It should be:

    • Colorless Skill Augments:
      • Level 1
        • +3 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 4
        • +5 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 8
        • +7 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 12
        • +9 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 16
        • +11 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 20
        • +13 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 24
        • +15 Bonus to Skill

      • Level 28
        • +20 Bonus to Skill

or something similar... the slot already is costing at least one level and should be factored in.

Do they cover things like Vertigo, intimidate or is it just your average spot, search bluff etc?

It would be nice with some flexibility here and I agree on the level.

I believe they cover normal skills. Like Hide, Intimidate, Bluff, Spellcraft, Heal, etc. Things you spend skill points on when you level.

I agree completely, lvl 28 for +15 to skill is too low. Also we need to add vertigo, stunning, etc. augments.

The thing is, the higher level you are, the stronger augments get.

Sure, if you are willing to invest that much item enchantment into an item you can get higher stat and skill boosts earlier, but they cost more in terms of item budget.

    Augments have two big benefits:

    1) Their cost is fixed, no matter whether you are slotting +1 con or +5 int, it is still just a +1 mod for a colorless slot.
    2) They dont use a prefix or suffix slot so you can have two abilities on an item that would not normally be able to be together like a Con 6 deathblock item.

Augments trade off relative strength at level in exchange for versatility.

I second the change of the skill augment levels to +20 at lvl 28 and etc as UurlockYgmeov posted.
