Default Is your guild membership up or down in 2013?

The Ghallanda forum here is so stagnant. In game however, some guild leaders have told me they are doing well, others, just aren't.

Just wondering how other guilds on Ghallanda are faring. Is your guild membership up or down? What are your guild plans for 2013 and beyond?

Up. Though, we don't really try too hard to grow. We are a pretty active guild as far as what we do together, but you already know that.

I post a few reminders here... but mostly, it goes by word of mouth.

With that said, we have recently picked up some great new players who found us here on the DDO Forums.

That's good Thac0! I see you use the forums here.. I'm not so sure many other guild leaders do anymore from the look of the guild recruitment thread. We've historically had great fortune utilizing the forums here, not as much any longer. Still we are doing quite well ourselves, but just wish the forums were as lively pre-change.

Up. But we make an effort to recruit.

Another thing effecting Ghallanda is that it seems to be the home of super-guilds. Two of the largest guilds in DDO have been formed and risen on Ghallanda over the last year, and there are two other super-guilds as well. All four of them are over level 70, and two of them are over level 80. This will cause a natural siphoning of smaller guilds, which may be the problem some people are facing.

Not sure that has to happen since renown decay is on summer vacation. Building up a guild with a few people is still tenable and you get to avoid a lot of the large guild drama.

Great to hear! Hmm .. other guilds, large, small, don't really affect our membership. We have name recognition because we've been around a long time though, camaraderie and teamwork is our thing. We have found great success recruiting thru the forums, however the new blood just seems way down overall.

I think you nailed it in your first paragraph. You definitely have to have a recruiting plan and execute it more then ever nowadays. Glad to see you guys doing well... see ya around Gland.

Our membership is up. Well, sorta. We haven't recruited anyone, but some people that were AWOL came back, so from being just two people regularly playing we're up to 5-6 now.

We're a small guild. membership is stagnant.

We have more people just not come back to the game than people who leave the guild. Kind of a shame too, as we had some decent people on that I liked to run with, and they just sorta moved on to new and different things. No reason per se', just went off to do something else.

Doomhammer Company is a set of RL friends. We peaked at 5 and have gone as low as 2 for practical terms. We've got 4-ish right now (with 2 of them spending some time in NWO currently).

    We're steady.

Our guild is, well, tiny. We have fought our way up the line, and we're proud of where we've gotten to. It is this spirit of accomplishment which prevents me from reaching out to other small guilds' membership or suggesting we merge into a larger guild. I wear so many faces in DDO, but we always carry our guild name with us. I think the other Biscuit Club members have also come to identify themselves by this as well, and I won't dishonor that commitment.

However, having limited membership does restrict our endgame/raid ability. I've been looking for a way to coordinate with other guilds without actually becoming a part of them. My friend list has filled up. Is there any mechanism in the game to accomplish this, like an alliance of guilds?

As to the OP: we haven't gained or lost membership, but it's not like anyone's ever asked to join my guild either. I have noticed that G-land's not suffering for players. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I pass through the Harbor.

Some people set up Teamspeak or Ventrilo (or other voice service) in order to co-mingle with other players/guilds.

Channels. Form one with like minded people from other guilds, works great.

    Heya Shortfall!

To answer one of your questions, yeah there are alliances, some old, some new. Tyrs Paladium leads an active alliance on Ghallanda called the Fellowship. Here's the link, if this sounds like we can benefit your guild, shoot me a PM with your thoughts and we'll discuss including your guild in the mix. We are just getting rolling, but we are quite organized and growing!

Interesting point. I have the means of setting up a Raidcall channel for the Fellowship... but that's for later down the road. Once we get a good routine down, we may set it up for the alliance. For now, we are going to stand pat.
