Hey... that is an idea... how about a free transfer service again... give us a chance to transfer a toon or two to Wayfinder... up the population a bit? I'd buy that for a dollar... (especially if it was free)

not its not a paid server. its the lowest population that will be for newer players. its a great move. Some people think their entitled to everything. its a nice business move for once. i just wished people would stop whining when their trying to bring in new players.

I think it is a great move, and I say this with Wayfinder not being my main server! The 10% is neither game breaking nor overpowered and really don't call for an outcry of unfairness. As rest said, on other servers one probably just won't group with others and get a death penalty.

I dip into the different servers if playing during the day (being a eurozone player it can be hard to find ppl to group with on my main server), but this will certainly encourage me to make Wayfinder my regular daytime/evening server.

How often do you break contracts, pay the penalty for such, make yourself known for breaking contracts when it is not the providers fault, pay to move massive amounts of data around, and add in a whole lot of renaming tokens just in case which also equals to profits lost....

Yeah... hell of a lot more profitable right now to try to revive the server.

I really like the move. If decay is turned off permanently I might even play a character over there since I wouldn't be hurting my guild by doing so.

Maybe because Turbine realizes that most people on a server do not want to find new names, new people to play with and basically start over again? Of course -you- don't understand that, because it won't be -your- characters that'll be affected by the merge. I'm sick of people like you.

I am also sick of people who think it is "unfair" that other people get a benefit when they don't. This false sense of entitlement makes me puke.

Wayfinder naturally has the same quests and items and stuff as all other servers, it just lacks people. That is the only difference. And it does lack people mostly because people say it lacks people. People don't want to play there for the sole reason that there are few people playing there. It's a vicious cycle.

So now when Turbine tries to break that cycle they should be congratulated for their efforts instead of criticized.
Turbine made a good move here and I really hope it helps.

I would tend to disagree. If the player base isn't expanding it is foolish to just try to migrate current players to a different server. You are only moving things around and not attracting new players. If you can't attract more people, the smart move is to merge the servers, and make two slower servers BUSIER. Would you rather be slightly inconvenienced by having to change your name and have double the people to play with, or have the same name and the same low numbers to play with? +xp doesn't guarantee a solution... Merging the servers does... The solution should be about SOLVING the problem...

haha you literally read into that statement. No the point is wayfinder is going to be about new players and anyone who has been there. So your comment was to avoid the new players because you're too good for them. 10% xp death meh. i have a 12th life and i dont care about death. it happens. i cap everytime. Some runs smooth while others are a little rough or painful.

You never did deny that you weren't either. So yeah ill play with new players while you stick with your little buddies running them off.

Ddo is dying, mostly due to bugs, lot of my friends from list no longer plays ddo and some of them show up sometimes to check if Turbine did sth with it.

Finding a group on eg Argonessen in EU morning hours is near impossible now.

Attracting one server with such bonus will just suck a few players from other ones and make other servers less crowded - wrong approach Turbine!!!

In my case (and I bet in many others) I used to play 10 hrs daily (eu) - nowadays there is just 2-3 hr window in weekdays with any chance for PUG - so when I jump into game just log out coz is not crowded enough! TR'ing is a nightmare.

I like after the rage of new players auto sent to Wayfinder, suddenly theres a year long xp boost to attract other players from different servers. if they are concerned about population over there and trying to get people to migrate over, they should offer a 1 time free transfer. ill be interested to see what happens and how things go with Wayfinder over the next year.

Major problem with this move is simple.

Wayfinder likely will still lag far behind other servers in populations which will keep it in it's current wasteland state. By encouraging people to move to a wasteland you end up losing players who become bored with the game quicker (as the social aspect of an MMO is critical to keeping players around).

This really is a matter of stopping the bleeding. Instead Turbine seems to be doing the opposite and funneling new players to wayfinder and trying to convince some vets to move over there.

Amusingly the vets who are most likely to not be too heavily impacted by the low population over there are also the last people who are likely to be found bothering to pug Instead it will be the solo players who want the extra xp for TRs and would begrudge their missing 10% from pugs.

Anyone who thinks we should merge with another server, Garn get. We love our lag free life. you can keep your over populated servers to yourselves.

I also agree that Wayfinder should NOT be the preferred server for reasons already given.

A couple thoughts on this. I have a 23 artificer and a 16 second life monk over on wayfinder. I got so tired of soloing everything that I finally re-rolled on Khyber because apparently transfer services were no longer offered. The server is so desolate that I started from scratch(well level 7 i paid for vet status).
I was admittedly a little disappointed that my toon names were currently occupied but I got creative figured out some new ones and by no means ended up with lasdjflasdjf as a name. I've levelled three toons to 18+ in the three months I've been on the server. As opposed to the year it took me to do the equivalent on wayfinder.
The fact is 10% xp is a cool idea but it is certainly not enough to convince me to go spend my play time back there again. I give massive kudos to turbine for the thought and for showing that they are actively looking at solving the wayfinder problem. I doubt the xp boost will be enough. I don't know if server merge is the answer but I think it would at least be a good idea to bounce off the player base of the server.

So... you want to migrate Argo to Wayfinder? How nice of you to volunteer.

Although, some people may miss Argo, and some toons may need to change their names when they move to Wayfinder.
