Can no longer browse forums on Ipad

I used to have no problem accessing the forums from my ipad and it is what I normally use when I browse.

Recently it has stopped working when I try and access these forums. I am not very computer savvy but my laptop had the same problem and I adjusted my host files and it got it working again. I googled the same fix for Ipad but there was mention of jailbreaking or some such thing - something im not too keen on doing. I feel like Im missing something simple - any suggestions?

odd, I have an ipod touch and I can browse them no problem. Is iOS up to date?
