Default The Second Enhancement Preview is now avialable on Lamannia!

Lamannia is now available so we can begin our Second Enhancement Preview! (Just in time to begin the first Event!)

We understand that this is a short period of time, and we want to make the most of it. Join us on Lamannia, fill out surveys, and post your feedback here on the forums.

We would like to focus on Enhancements at this time, but you will likely encounter changes to the Experience Penalty, Stealth AI, and the Harbor. Please note that we are in very early stages of development of these additions and changes to DDO, and many aspects and values are subject to change. In particular about the Experience Penalty changes: The commands to adjust the place-holder values currently do not work. The values you see are only place-holders!

    Release Notes: (Updated 6-27-2013)

    Known Issues: (Updated 6-27-2013)

In particular, note that some quests may be blocked in this build since monsters may not properly spawn behind breakable doors (Ie: The Lords of Dust.)

I can only access DDO thru Steam therefore the Xoriat server is unavailable to me.
Should someone be kind enough to post all or at least a portion of the new enhancements
available that would be very appreciated.

    Thank you.

PS Some players were keen on having an official list so as to playtest better?

Thank you, I am hoping someone will post Beta data there as well.

    Why only open until Monday?

Why not leave it up so that we can spend a proper amount of time to consider different builds and uncover more gremlins in the works? 3 days really isn't sufficient.

Perhaps, Gama is coming after Beta with more changes,
but with the past Do0o0om they wanted us to see some good news?

I was wrong. Lamannia will be available later than today. However, we need to start preparations for the Shadowfell Conspiracy Closed Beta soon, and we will need to bring down Lamannia to do so. Note that those participating in the Shadowfell Conspiracy Closed Beta will have continued access to the Enhancements.

Additionally, because I have to write up the next (and certainly not final) Enhancement Feedback Report on Wednesday, I will still have to close the Enhancement surveys early Wednesday morning. I know that there are a lot of surveys currently available. I would appreciate it if you would at least Rank the New Enhancements and fill out the General Class Enhancement Survey and General Racial Enhancement Survey!

    Thank you!

It's hard to get the motivation to fill out the surveys. The vast majority of class trees haven't had a single change from the original alpha version; was there no feedback on any of them?

    - We were assured that costs would come down, that they were intentionally set high to begin with. I don't see a single enhancement cheaper than the intentionally high version from the first alpha; they're all the same as they ever were.
    - We were assured that rangers would get devotion. Rangers still do not have devotion.

Let me put it another way: I could submit a bunch of surveys, but since none of the trees I care about outside of divine disciple (pally trees, ranger trees, wizard trees, human tree, etc...) changed in any way, can you guys just automatically re-submit my previous surveys again?

It's hard to interpret this extremely short second preview with virtually nothing changed as anything other than confirmation of what many of us said on first preview: The very first initial preview is how it's going to go live.

Why is human improved recovery double the cost compared to live?
Why don't kotc/hotd pallies get devotion?
Why don't any rangers get devotion?
Why isn't healing aura a core ability of the healing tree, where it should be?
The pale master tree is anemic at best, and AM as a specialization was made wholly irrelevant.

I could go on and on, like how kotc pallies having to choose between undead or evil outsiders instead of getting both at once is a poor design decision, but I honestly don't feel it would matter. Looking at the pally, ranger and human trees it's as if there wasn't a single shred of feedback listened to.

I have to pretty much agree with EllisDee37 here.

Outside of showing off the new Divine Disciple tree for Clerics, there was nothing done to any of the trees.

Something as simple as making the cost of equal in the Acrobat and Henshin trees would have shown that at least something was done and players were listened to.

Okay, so the Devs did listen to the players who multiclass by giving them more trees to choose from. But the Devs didn't deliver on the boosting of the capstones, so most of the capstones are still worth giving up for two levels of something else.

Changes to Dodge are bad for the game.
One of the most beautiful things in DDO is it's stacking mechanisms.
Stacking stuff means you have to actually think how to set up your equipment so that you can get more items with different values to stack and such

"The Second Enhancement Preview is now avialable on Lamannia!"

Very obvious to me this is not Beta, this is another look at Alpha
with the unacceptable parts of Alpha fixed. Beta will be called Beta
    not Second.

I asked them to put everyone on the cleric and use their creative genius.

Thank you, if the Favored Souls fans are jealous then you did something right.

    The multiclass compromise sounds good.

    The XP changes sound good.

The new AI changes sound good.

The secret doors is interesting and reminiscent of some of the First Edition dispel magic rules.

Nonstacking Dodge opens up equipment slots and better dodge items for later on.

The new random loot system seems like the augment system, a good thing.
Definitely working towards level 30 here.

Would like to see numbers on Divine Disciple, and thank you for adjusting Alpha.

A nice quick peek before future Beta previews.

I'm guessing it's being brought down so new changes can be shown.

If you were at the dev events they got a hell of a lot of feedback. it takes time to process that and make changes accordingly.

    This d000m is premature.

Of course it is! It's PALE Master, what did you expect?
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

"Of course it is. Are YOU going to question beholder's artistic sense?"
