Dryad Grove Challenges

I decided to start some of the Eveningstar challenges so I could get some gear upgrades. The first 2 challenges went smoothly. Then I got to the Dryad Grove: Defenseless.

It's a five minute challenge where the goal is to get 625 life energy even though the quest screen you click on to enter the quest states 120. The issue I have is with all the tree's up, life energy increases by 10 roughly every 5 seconds. This equates to roughly 600 life energy after 5 minutes, 25 shy of the goal, let alone reaching the optional 800 or 1000.

As far as I can tell, there are no objectives to meet to increase this timer or get bonus life energy. Any ideas?

Click on the trees, and spend some energy to increase their energy production.

Don't upgrade their defenses if you can help it.
