it was a chance encounter at the local, poorly stocked library. I read the first and then the other two—probably around 1983 or so—and forever modeled myself after Ged the elder. I also loved the original short story The Word of Unbinding.
Last year, I read her book about the female character from the Aeneid—beautiful work too.
