Default How many weapons does a rogue REALLY need?

since capping my first life rogue, I have acquired a LOT of weapons.. needless to say, I feel it's time to do some housekeeping..

This is what I keep in my bank/on my toon, since I assume most people are familiar with a particular weapon, I'm not going into too many details/specs

    - Epic Midnight Greetings - no-brainer keeping
    - 2x Envenomed blade (keeping for TR)
    - Epic ancient vulkoorim dagger - (Vorpal/dc 25 giant), greater giant bane
    - 2x crafted "harry beaters" -> one is +5 seeker +8 / righteous the other is +5 holy / pure good.. 2d6 damage die and silver
    - Sacrificial dagger (neg energy damage, level drain)
    - +4 Holy burst rapier of radiance (main trash beater)
    - +5 Wounding Rapier of mauling (greater heartseeker + 2d8 bleed damage) (offhand trash beater)
    - Star of Day (cleric of amauntor version, random enchantments)
    - rapier & heavy mace - smiting of banishing - base 2d6 version
    - 2x light mace / disruption
    - GS Rad2 rapier
    - Epic Cutthroat's smallblade tier 3

there's probably about 3 - 4 more that I can't remember offhand but.. I feel this collection is either excessive or missing some things.. most of these weapons are good for lvl 20-25 and I know I would like to add a few more (2x celestia, balizarde, rebellion.

Unless I can TR to a marilith, I don't think I will be able to use them all constantly...

On my rogue I also have like 10 sets on me.
I think of your list you can get rid of the non-named that are not specific.
by this I mean, have a bludgeon/ disruption and pierce(or slash)/ disruption sets, but not "- rapier & heavy mace - smiting of banishing - base 2d6 version". This set is less specific than it could be. In other words, the reason I have so many weps, is so I have a set good for almost any situation.

IMHO, the cutthroat and vulkurim can be stored away.
The "- +5 Wounding Rapier of mauling (greater heartseeker + 2d8 bleed damage) (offhand trash beater)" should be on the chopping block (pun intended).

Try to get a pair of Agonies. IMHO they are the best general purpose weapons a rogue can use. I use them now for anything without DR. Or if you must, a Zard and an Agony - but I don't like the balizard to much.
If you got enough cleric coms, try to get lucky and get a Star of Day (you did not state which you got) with Disruption + Holy Burst or Greater good. Makes for a fantastic undead beater.
I am underwhelmed by the Celestia. I keep it on my too, but I don't pull it out much. I use it now when I need to blind something, I pair it with my radII.
The Sac dagger I have no experience with.

    I have:
    Dual Agonies
Undead set (pierce) (Star of day as above + an awesome random loot gen one)
Undead set (bludgeon) (Have not yet decided if this is better vs. skellies than my other set. I am not Vanishlar)
Banishing set (rarely use anymore at endgame.)
    Smiting set
    Silver Good set
    Cold Iron Good set
    EMG paired with Agony
    RadII + Celestia

Just get the best you can for each type and get rid of old

Just keep experimenting. A lot depends on what kind of groups you run with, style etc.
~~ Adrunil - Rogue. Halfling, big guy you can't miss him. ~~
    ~~ Adrunel - Monkcher. (Moncher?) ~~
Robodoc - FvS Evoker-Healer. Post 19: Ended up LRing into 13/7 forc
    Orien server.

Rogues need a LOT of weapons. Mine has:

+5 Bodyfeeder Rapier of Enfeebling/Sacrificial Dagger <This is great! So much survivability, especially with Imp Crit: Pierce! [MAIN]
+5 Adamantine Rapier of Smiting/+1 Adamantine Shortsword of Smiting <Portal beaters, added adamantine ritual later
+4 Holy Silver Shortsword of Tendon Slice 4%/+2 Coruscating Silver Dagger <Needed Harry beaters, this was what I could find on AH

Cold Iron+Good set [don't remember effects]
Blade of the High Priestess [Only useful in EE]

I know I have more than that, that's just what I remember. If I wasn't about to TR her, I'd also be getting Envenomed Blades and Epic Midnight's Greetings.

Hope this helps in seeing what exactly you should keep.

    Short answer: all of them.

Long answer: I carry about 7 sets.

    Trash set (RadII/+5x of mauling)
Boss set (pure DPS/Rebellion for deception and fort lowering)
Stat set (Dual Weakening of Enfeebling)
    Banishing set
Undead set (Star of Day + Ghost touch Disruptor)
    Smiting set
    Metalline of PG.
I will also occasionally try out other DPS set combinations.
Shiz - Ghallanda > Orien (Pharoah let my people go!)
Shizmonkey (OG Grand Poo-Bah of R.O.G.U.E. 1st edition) and other various ShizAlts
R.O.G.U.E. Proving Grounds Redux is now defunct. Check out Part Quatre

I got a lot of them as well.

    Dual envenomed blades,

    Dual smiters,

    Dual Banishers,

    Dual dusruptors,

    dual vorpals,

    etc.

My fav still, though, is the dual envenomed blades. Up to lvl 19, they make most content a cakewalk.

My one non-repeater rogue is still--at 19--rocking a newer model Zephyr (with acid augment) and a newer model Flint (with... I don't remember which augments). While I have a pair of Envenommed blades (and use them on spiders and vermin), most of the time it's just those two blades, 34 DEX, and a Heroic Elite Jorgundal's Collar and things go away fast.

I do really need some better DR breakers though. And maybe a second new-model Zephyr.

Oh, and I have a Turbulent Epee and Polycurse Dagger, but... meh. Not much STR.
