Learn to read please!

Srry for the rant here but im just so frustrated after what just happened. I joined an ee tor group and asked where in quest the party was. Words i used were "where in quest are u?" I was then kicked with no chance to respond. I pm our brave and noble leader and am told that i was kicked because i asked what quest the party was running when it was clearly stated in lfm. I pm leader and ask her to take another look at what i said explaining i was just asking where they were so i would know what dragon to head to. They respond by saying yea they get it now they just "read it differently". I ask for reinvite since my kick was due to a misunderstanding and am told "full now". I pm leader and ask if they can kick new person and reinvite me since its not my fault the leader misread the message. I am met with silence...

This strikes me as being a 2 part problem with 2 independent solutions.

1. If the leader read and understood perfect english and didn't read ":where in quest are u?" as "what quest are u in?" we would never have had a problem. Solution is to read carefully and understand grammar better.
2. Even if i had asked what quest they were in i wouldn't have expected to have been kicked. I would never do that to anyone if i were leading a group. Even if they didn't read lfm, which admittedly can be frustrating, doesnt mean u have to be a jerk and kick them. Telling them takes a second of your time and is not worth making an enemy over. Solution is to be more patient.

In a game with an already small server population its not good to hold grudges. I dont even keep a squlesh list. Therefor if I get a decent apoligy from this leader I will run with him again even if he can be a jerk sometimes. Every human has some good in them. If not though its just not worth the drama and frustration. Last thing can everyone pls make an effort to be more patient and understand grammar better. It will make Thelanis a better place. ty

Or you could have hopped in and looked at the blue dots. Or you could have said "which dragon are you on?" which ads clarity.

Also you suggestion that they then kick someone else is ignorant on your part beyond belief.

Frankly you lucky I even consider giving you a chance as from past experiance you
cant hold you own, rarely come prepared, and usualy spend 90% of a quest as a soul stone.
but i do like to allow ppl the chance to show me they improved or are improveing and if so
allow them to join my runs more frequently and give them more important roles in my partys.

Hello Thelanis! I have one capped char and have for quite some time. I'm looking to do some item gathering before the expansion this summer and am looking for a guild that will run ees with me. I have played on and off since 12/6/2009 although i havnt stopped playing since Motu was released. I started out on argo but transferred to thelanis in January of 2012 right after 1/server stone. I brought my character Camazotz from argo hence the -1 in his name. Camazotz-1 is a sorcerer/paladin/epic 25 shiradi caster. He has farmed out about half of the epic destines, something which i hope to finish this summer. He is on his second life. He doesn't have very high dcs but he does have umd enough to use res scrolls. I enjoy playing him and while I'm far from the best sorcerer on Thelanis , I think of myself as a fairly decent player and am always striving to get better. I dislike the idea of TRing and only did it on cama because it was the only fix for a lesser reincarnation bug. I may tr again come summer if enhancement changes destroy cama's build but not before. I need several ee items to complete cama's gear after which ill start farming trading fodder for the summer. I would like a guild that would have people willing to run ees with me online at most times. My playtime varys alot day to day but i am generally very activ. I do not enjoy raiding generally and will not run raids other than FOT atm. Any ee running guild leaders can contact me in this thread, by forum pm, or by messaging Camazotz-1 ingame. ty

I quest of course. My favorite is ee pop which must be at 50+ ee runs now. Also if u read carefully i mentions that i do run fot albeit reluctantly.

As for this whole thread, it was probably a mistake. I was just so furious last night when this happened that i posted immediately after said event, which almost always ends badly. I am sincerely sorry that i dragged the whole server community into this. Maybe i should just keep a squelsh list. I don't like the idea but it seems to be the accepted way to deal with elitist jerks. Sorry for time waste.

I think the lesson everyone learns from this is "It's just a game." If you don't like something, move on and forget about it. It has no way at all of affecting you or your life outside of the game. Proper response to this should've just been to squelch the guy and find a different quest to do, or post your own LFM, rather than go and make a thread to vent your anger.

For the record, OP...patience and grammar (and spelling) is something half of Thelanis is immune to. I wish you best of luck in your quest to purify the server...

...but for the love of Pete, just stop feeding certain egos with these weekly rant threads. Try a "server lag sucks" rant, or a "I hate your loot policy" rant, or a "Game is too p2w, I quit" rant for a change.
