made me smile
Haha, very amusing as we're currently expecting our first child and going through the motions of buying all this safety-commission certified stuff for the nursery. I talk to my mom a whole lot about advice & recommendations, and it's shocking how much has changed over such a small period of time!
"No playstation" but commodore 64, yes.

"Walk it off" - Best advice ever given.
I miss those days. Not from any sense of nostalgia mind you, but rather from that nascent feeling of joy fostered by the pure, unadulterated freedom to royally screw up followed by a well-earned satisfaction in fixing my own mistakes. Responsibility invites independence; something so very few of the last couple of "generations" ever seem to understand.
The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it. - Edward R. Murrow (1964)

Good one. Thanks for sharing
Once upon a time, I was part of a team, and we saved some children. That was long ago and far away, and, yes, I am that old.

Woah; wait! You are trying to trick us in to giving away our age aren't you...
Just because I can relate to everything in that video...
That doesn't mean I was a 70's kid! And just because I was born in the sixties...
Curse you...

Good one.
I am on computer #27
First comp black & white 2k with a 16 k plug in adapter.
Had to make my own games.
Then the old silver Radio Shack computer, then the Trash 80.
Then we moved in to the old Commodore computers.
Even the pre windows Geos desktop.
Having to wait 10 to 15 min for a game to load from a tape recorder.
The DAK Catalog.
The old 1200 baud modem and the dial in BBS.
Still miss the Windows 3.14 for work groups the magic you could preform with it.
Not all who wander are lost. I am not lost, I am just exploring.

Anyone besides me remember typing in games/programs from multipage long printouts of code in computer magazines?
God, I was so happy when they started to add checksums to catch your typos lol
It was a great way to learn coding though. Look over the Basic or Assembler or whatever you had just typed in, and start tweaking things to make it your own and help you understand the neat things you could do.
1200 baud - Wow, you were high tech!
My first modem was an acoustic coupler 300 baud modem that I build in a showbox (yes, literally a shoebox to hold the coupler and circuit board. )
I remember when they first started selling 300/1200 baud modems, I couldn't believe how fast they were!
Although my C=64 still works I use emulators to play some of the old games on my modern computer. I haven't set up one on my Windows 8 machine, but on my W7 I like to play Autoduel sometimes.
