Well obviously, do all of that. However, take it from a father of two, your eyes and common sense will be your best defenses to protect your child.

I miss those days. Not from any sense of nostalgia mind you, but rather from that nascent feeling of joy fostered by the pure, unadulterated freedom to royally screw up followed by a well-earned satisfaction in fixing my own mistakes. Responsibility invites independence; something so very few of the last couple of "generations" ever seem to understand.

Haha. Yep, heard it many times. From falling on skates on a concrete sidewalk to taking a baseball to the nads in little league, I'd hear my parents or manager say "Walk it off!"... that generation's way to say "harden up and Deal!"
