LOL There is no such think as toll free from the UK and to call the US from the UK would cost me more than what I want back

You're not paying "their" tax. You're paying our VAT at 17.5%.
A better question would be to HMRC to see if Turbine are actually paying it to the UK government.

Hey Dog, my GF also got taxed but I think I have worked out what happened...
The site defaults to US Dollars. If you don't change this, but give your address as the UK, it will charge you in Dollars but convert the figure on-screen to GBP. Then it adds the UK tax. It is this conversion at some strange exchange rate that causes the problem - the result for the Collectors pack will be £38.15
If you click on the £ sign at the top of the page before starting the order, it will charge you £37.49 which already includes that UK tax.
So, yes you have been over charged but only by 75p on the Collectors pack (plus a similar overcharge on the other items you bought).
If however, you had left the site on its US default and then lied and said you lived in the US, it would have just charged you $49.99 (which gets exchanged to £33.17)
Bottom line is the site is not well designed. It should auto-detect your location from your IP and present the correct pricing automatically. If I were you I would take this up with customer services - you should be entitled to a partial refund as it is their shoddy site design that is responsible.
Does this help?
