My opinion of the new expansions..

I think it's a waste of TP and such a messed up idea, why would we have to pay for 2 things that already exist? It's just a WF and a Pally!!
Why wouldn't they instead make a Lv15 Veteran Status which will be only for Iconics, and make that a paid feature.
Instead they just give us a Race that already exists, a Class that already exists, mixes them together and making them less worth to get.
Also, who would want to get them while you can't TR them or into them, what are they, more than expensive mules?

I personally think this whole Iconic idea is stupid, and I wouldn't want to buy any of them, simply because it's not worth it.

While Turbine is trying to make the game more fun, it seems that in the same time, they're just trying to make more money and it just doesn't do it, why post the game as a free game, if you can't progress or really enjoy the game at all without.

I would like to keep playing this game, but I just hate all the expensive expansions and existing "new" ideas that will just add to the lagg in-game and will make you jealous of the people who paid from their own real pocket, to get stuff that you just can't.

That is just my opinion.

Since you got into all that trouble to post it in 2 different locations ...

1. You get -10% slash damage (+ some prr on top of it)
2. You get repair spell-line
3. You get +1 saves from the aura
4. I will want to. TR is just stupid and a bad game design. If I wanted restarts I'd play MU Online. I (and I'm sure I am not the only one) just DO NOT WANT TO GRIND LIKE AN IDIOT FOR AN ONLINE GAME. This feature is perfect for me (and probably a lot more) and I WILL GET IT and exclusively play with BF and nothing else (unless I want a barb or bard). Screw you guys and your elitism. TRing is not a must in order to play the game. I do find the lack of LR kind of bad but meh.
5. The idea is not stupid and it's not worthless. A lot of people will like it and use it.

One thing you didn't relate to is that it is gonna cost you TPs to get that char, and even for all the benefits, they should at least make it possible for people who unlocked WF already, to get that character to, because the class already exist.
Also you must have wanted to start at level 1, to play it with more fun, but then you will pass on the feature of the starting at level 15 thing, which is basically the idea of those Iconics.
On top of all that, I am not a machine and I don't like to "grind like an idiot", I have less than 3 reincarnations, summing all my existing (4) characters, I mostly spoke about that I would not be able to be as strong on this character, instead of just trying hard and TRing my main into that creature, making it stronger, while this would be something I cannot do on an all new character, since I barely reach 250 TPs currently, lack some of the packs and that shared bank thing.

So no, I don't think for me this is a good idea, but you go have fun with it, it's just a game, eh?

U18 is an update to get ready for the expansion.
As far as we can tell U 18content will be free.

As far as we can tell, two of the three quests will be f2p. The third quest was announced as being available only for people who buy the Expansion.

My original opinion was that the iconic heroes were stupid as well but I'm beginning to warm up to the idea. First of all, do I really want to go through the time and expense of TRing all of the characters I have slots for on any given server? No, not really. TRing should be reserved for your favorite characters and the other character slots can be used for banking and for some utility and/or experiment. I think having the option of these iconic characters can be useful both for running mid-level dungeons you still need loot from and for having a bit of fun experimenting with build options. Not having to invest months or even years TRing them gives you the freedom, to reroll characters when the whim strikes you. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what the other iconic heroes will be and hopefully a handful of them will be useful to me in creating support alts for my main character.
