Kill spiders, collect shards. Attack Spinner, fend off attack, keep killing spiders. Light ALL the pillars in one shot, end fight. Solo Heroic Normal/Hard 16-18 Arty with dog and FvS hire was 15-20 mins. I'm also wondering where the saga guy went from beside the WW for that chain set

Supposedly on EE it makes more demons spawn if you start lighting the pillars before you are ready to finish. I saw the demons keep spawning even with the "light them all at the end" strategy so I am not entirely convinced.
On EH I don't think the demons spawn - if so at a much slower rate.
I ran spinner on epic hard solo on my bard last week. I tried the lighting everything at the end, but demons still kept respawning when I killed them so not sure if this tactic really works for EH.

I generally kill the first 7, beat spinner till she spawns 9 more, kill those beat spinner till she goes away, kill hezzies till she comes back, beat spinner till she spawns 9 more , kill them, beat spinner till she goes away, light 6 torches, defend flame, kill last 11 flame eaters, light last 3 torches.
I've never seen the amount of trash being different until after defending the flame and the flame eaters are in constant respawn at that point so no need to do more than try to avoid the spinner until you get the last few crystals at that point.

Not just those shards/seals are frustrating to acquire.
I've given up all hopes to getting any specific item at all (and kinda freak out when I do see that shard of SoS drop).
It's from an outdated system where the max level cap was the endgame and people needed to be kept busy.
Nowadays TR-ing is the endgame and the defs are doing a good job with reinventing the tr-system.
This does have the side effect that you can now go through lives without getting the items you've set your hopes on acquiring.
(And thus feeling a bit gimped out.)
On a more brighter side of things, eventually you'll wind up with a sack full of shards and seals and you'll learn that not all that you hope for to get is really all that necessary.
