Still sorting-out classes, so far, it looks like:
    Bruggs - healer
    Twizzix - ?
    Risarr - ranger
    Zanbaur - trapper?
    Ragnarorc/Nacalito/Tesslan - ?

New Guy here, I guess. Unless I've been replaced before being placed. Which is cool, really! No, really. If you're gonna get sacked, get sacked early I always say! Why waste all that time getting invested, you know? Bam! Just lop it off at the head, right at the beginning. Well, I would say that. I don't really say it. No, it's more of a whisper! Yeah, "A scorpion has spotted you". Hmmmm.

Snowy side? Sunny side? Any requests? I don't normally do impressions, but...

I have so much more to say, some of it funny even, but I don't want to ruin the RELENTLESS .. EXPERIENCE! I was thinking of trying a Monk, my second evar character in the history of D&D. Some of you may have heard this story before, so enjoy it again: I remember playing at a high level, but facing a monster that could not be hurt by magical weapons. Of course my fists were magical, and of course I had no other weapons on me. I think I had to run them thru a lava pit or something, took forever. All I remember was, "Your fists do no damage." I scoured the rule books, thinking this doesn't look like anything to me, until finally someone told me.

Long story short, (TOO LATE) Monk is just too uber. At least that's how I chose to take it. Also, why are there no gibberlings in this game? Why didn't anyone ever have a pet gibberling? Those things were great! A VAST field of gibberlings, just asking for a fireball! Weak on their own, but a good 40 or 50 of em, and whoosh goes the hitpoints!

Most people, when confronting with the standard highwayman, will pool together on the side of the trail, and face them. This is wrong. Make the babbage chase you! He will follow.

Hey New Guy, welcome. I think a Monk would be awesome. I look forward to you joining the group. We will meet-up on the sunny-side of Korthos.

    So, we currently stand at:

till sorting-out classes, so far, it looks like:
    Bruggs - healer (probably cleric)
    Twizzix - ?
    Risarr - ranger
    Zanbaur - trapper
    Ragnarorc/Nacalito/Tesslan - ?
    New Guy - monk

Risarr here. When we last met I had mentioned that I had interest in playing a Ranger. However, if there's a need for the group, I'm more than happy to take anything. DPS, tank, arcane caster, etc. Just let me know as I haven't TR'd yet.

Hiya Risarr. Whatever you are interested in, should work fine. I think we have a good mix with you being a ranger. An arcane caster would also be good, but a ranger would be a good surrogate. Twizzix is currently leaning toward a Paladin.

Again, whatever you want, I believe we will make it work.

Are we playing tonight, Monday the 21st if November 2016?

Are there any rules I should know about, such as can I use my cult mask, or grab items from shared bank, or... I just don't wanna make any mistakes!
(increasingly nervous guy (formerly new guy) here, guy.)

    Hi,

No, the plan was to skip the week of Thanksgiving and start up on the 28th giving everyone lots of time.
Means I am around anyways I will likely complete my TR tonight and get all set for next week.

Doing good. We do generally use the ship buffs and tomes of learning are fine. Generally we wait for everyone to be ready to level at once and it is not unusual to be capped for XP and still not level. We level more based upon what quests we still have to do at the level we are at.

Its a fairly laid back group rules wise, after the first TR we even lifted the restriction on the Auction House. I still only buy from the auction house and even then rarely though. It is more fun to work my own way up.

    And so it begins…again…

Welcome to our newest member, Bernardlowe. I believe he is from the western part of our world, and he's just crackling with energy.

We eschewed Korthos and went straight to the Harbor on November 28th where we completed several level 2 quests. On December 5th, we completed all of the Explorers in the Cerulean Hills along with the quests Where There’s Smoke… and The Captives. We walked the Butcher’s Path, jumped into the Sunken Sewer, and found the remains of some adventurers Missing in Action.

Speaking of missing in action, Risarr was unavailable last Monday.

All quests were completed on Elite.

    Hi Niab!

Actually, we have 6, but one of our regulars has a RL commitment for a few weeks, so he's been absent.

    Thanks for asking.

The day after New Year’s found us doing Splinterskull, Splinterskull, Splinterskull, etc., etc., etc. Such a cruel joke for any us who weren’t quite up to snuff after New Year’s festivities. Over the course of the adventure, we all died at least once adding to the joy of the chain. We persevered, however, and moved on to Kobold Assault. In that final quest of the evening, only Kobolds did the dying.

Bernard was not available for the evening.

    011917

This evening found us waiting, and waiting, and waiting for Twizz over and over again.

Bruggs: ‘Sup, girl? Get a move on!

Twizz: Meh! Quality can’t be hurried.

Bruggs: Yeah? How about YOU get hurried—quality isn’t an issue here!

Well, ouch! Twizz flashed a very unpaladin-like gesture in Bruggs’ general direction, and we were off.

On the docket for us: STK, Sharn, and Irestone Inlet.

All quests were completed on Elite.

    Upcoming Event on Sarlona:

What: VON 5/6 Teaching Raid by the High Lords of Malkier

    Where: House Kundarak

When: Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 9:00 pm EST

Why: To introduce new(er) players to the raiding scene or for players looking to learn raids better.

How: Contact Voodu or Gingerspyce in game to reserve your spot

Special note: Event will be live-streamed

    Participant's Review:

I reached a point where learning about this game and about raids became more important than my being uncomfortable about being a newer, under-geared player. I participated in all the 2016 teaching raids, and it changed the way I looked at DDO. They are a great way to learn about how a raid works, what to do, and what NOT to do in a raid. Gingerspyce and the rest of the High Lords keep everything organized and low-stress. It's fun; it's informative; it's free. So, get flagged and join up!

We completed the Delera’s Tomb chain on Elite. Bruggs’ Turn Undead spells worked; Twizz’s did not. Zanbaur found all the traps one way or another. Risarr zinged with her arrows; Bernard shuto-uchied with his fists. A successful night for us. For the undead? Not so much.

We completed Slave Pits of the Undercity and The Church and the Cult on HE. Evidently Bruggs decided he wanted a reaper-free night. The traps were plentiful and tricky, but Zanbaur did a great job and found most of them with only an occasional assist from another member of the party.

Twizzix: (Hair on fire) Fire trap!!!

Bernard has been on retreat for two weeks, but we look forward to him joining us soon. We have missed his company.

Twizzix decided she’d had enough of being a Paladin and reincarnated into a Warlock.

The group is coming up on its fourth-year anniversary. So…happy anniversary to us!
