    Default Farwind: An Air savant Endgame EE DPS Build

    Introduction:
    The main focus of this build is to use what sorcerers can do best: DPS. There is a secondary focus on Enchantment through the use of specific gear and the spell selection to ensure the CC role in throughout most of the game and the hardest quests and raids. This build, but the class in general played a nuker, is very Clicky intensive, requiring many different pieces of Gear to allow fast swap in to be the most efficient possible with the consume of Spell Points. I will not focus on Necromancy school because I do not like that kind of playstyle. On top of that, I would need too many Feats and I would have to sacrifice Feats that I'm not willing to sacrifice.

    Past lives:
    This build makes use of 3x Sorcerers Past Lives and 3x Wizard Past lives. It can be done without them but I highly suggest you to get them. 3 DC for your Evocation spells is awesome for those nasty EE mobs and 60 Spell Points are always handy. The Wizard past lives are not necessary but that +6 Spell Pen is nice to have for the mobs with some Spell Resistance, specially in the latest updates.

    Stats:
    Pure Human, Lv30, 36 points, True neutral:

    STR: 27 (8 base + 4 tome + 8 item + 1 Exceptional + 2 Epic Litany + 2 Ship + 2 Lasting Elixir) = 27 STR
    DEX: 30 (8 base + 4 tome + 11 item + 1 exceptional + 2 Epic Litany + 2 Ship + 2 Lasting Elixir) = 30 DEX
    CON: 48 (18 base + 6 Tome + 15 Item + 1 Exceptional + 2 Insight + 2 Epic Litany + 2 Ship + 2 Lasting Elixir) = 48 CON (+19)

    • Evocation Specialist (Magister): +3 Evocation DC
    • Rejuvenation Cocoon (Primal Avatar):Protect target ally with a shield of [90/120/150] temporary HP for 9 seconds. Heals 5d6 HP every 2 seconds while the shield persists. Very awesome for self-healing.
    • Interrogation (Divine Crusader): +5 Universal Spell Power and +1% Spell Critical Chance.



    Evocation DC:

    With sustainable buffs:

    76 + 1 Yugo Pot + 1 Lasting Elixirs of Supreme Ability = 78 DC running most of the times. You can have many other buffs but those are not sustainable like these two. 78 DC is enough for every mob in the game, specially if you abuse Solid Fog like I do.


    Enchantment DC:
    10 base + 9 Heighten + 34 Modifier + 6 Enchantment bonus item + 2 Topaz of Greater Enchantment Augment + 1 Quality DC (on Gauntlets of the Arcane Soldier) + 1 Ship buff + 1 Wizard Past life + 3 Insightful Enchantment = 67 Enchantment DC.

    With sustainable buffs:

    67 + 1 Yugo Pot + 1 Lasting Elixirs of Supreme Ability = 69 DC running most of the times. Probably not good enough for LE Raids at the moment but I'm not running much of those. This DC holds almost anything in every quest, which is good enough for me.

    Electric: 888, Electrocution (+25 SP), Meridian Fragment (+24 SP) for a max total of 937
    Cold: 592, Hoarfrost (+25 SP), Meridian Fragment (+24 SP) for a max total of 641
    Force: 597

    I took a picture of what my usually spellpower is most throughout the quests and especially in boss fights:

    Notice: this spellpower is counted without 3 piece Slave Lord's Sorcery set and no +185 Equipment bonus from Slave Lord's, which means the total is +40 once gear is finalized.



    Total Electric: 1.007 + 300 Feats = 1.307 Electric Spellpower
    Total Force: 671 + 300 Feats = 971 Force Spellpower

    Of this, the non-sustainable ones are: +50 Draconic Fury (5 minute cooldown clicky), and +20 Action boost (only because I have 5 Action boosts per shrine, sustainable in every quest). Which in the end makes up for:

    937 sustainable Electric Spellpower
    702 sustainable Force Spellpower


    I have 6330 SP with just Ship buffs, more than enough for every quest in game at the moment and happy with it.

    Conclusion:
    I'm really enjoying the DPS and survavibility of this build. Whenever I'm in trouble, Wind Dance, Cocoon and a Heal scroll healing me for 400+ are great and the knockdown immunity is just something that I can't give up. I really hated when, with no savants avaible, every Cometfall or Trip made me fall on the ground forever, basically meaning death.

    First I just want to say, there is no plain reply only reply with quote, so I am not sure how clean this will be. I don't meant to quote your entire piece.

    Overall it is an adequate build. For 3 past lives as sorc, I still think that you can do better but still enjoyable.

    1. Get rid of extend, no reason for a sorc to have extend. Replace it with epic toughness, the 50 xtr hp will benefit you a lot more than a few more seconds of haste.

    2. I would probably replace your active sorc past life with force of personality. Having higher will saves would go a lot further.

    3. Some of your spell choices seem to be a waste. You don't have any fire spells yet you spent 1 point on flame power.

    You dont' seem to have a striding item nor did you take expeditious retreat. Why bother with hypnotism?

    Halt undead, cloud kill,

    Your enchant DC will be so low why even bother with those either, Unless you are only running epic hard. Just a waste of spell slots.

    As for destinies, what a waste not having tier 3 of EB, Yes it is a lot of points 9, but the 9-14k crits are pretty nice. Dragon breath is nice but the ice one is slightly better for aiming than the electric one.

    You have +4 tomes, 2 GS items every single GH gear that you can, multiple past lives. You should be a monster, but frankly I still don't think that this toon can solo all epic elites. It still reeks as a mediocre build.

    I think that your DC's are nice. I can only hit 50 at lvl 25, but I am a WF. Which I still think is the master of arcane races. The self heal ability is so much nicer than relying on scroll healing.

    Extend is not an epic feat. And 50 HP aren't that useful when grouped I can buff up to ~700. That's all I ever need

    What for? FoM and Protection from Evil are all I ever need. My Will saves is +28 unbuffed. Bringing them to 48 just for one spell seems like a waste (and will probably fail it most of the times knowing eeGH mobs' DC). And if they don't cast it in the middle of my head, I can get rid of it with just one spell.

    Hypnotism and Halt undead are also gone from time ago. Have Lightning bolt and can't remember at level 1 at the moment. Something useless probably. Cloud kill, DC? What? 20% Concealment is still great.

    Let's cut the head to the bull: You can't crit for 14k. Your T3 crits will mostly go from 8k to 10k. 14k only if they are helpless + debuffed. I still crit for 8k with T1, can't see the problem. Dreagon Breath works fine if you know how to aim it. With lower DC, it won't matter: they are going to save from it anyway.

    The only epic elite solo I'm missing is Crucible. Believe it or not. I posted the Madstone one if you saw it, it was the only one worth it.

    How often do you fail a spell pen check with PW: Kill, Enervation etc on EE? Myself I was thinking of trying level 1 spell Sonic Blast as a backup cc as its evo and attacks will, but has spell pen check. Its a short 2-6 sec daze, the description says it single target but wiki says it has a spherical area of effect. Im not sure that it would be reliable on EE due to also having no spell pen feats except one wiz past life and the caster levels from Draconic ED.

    These spells are mostly used on mobs with no Spell Resistance. If you are looking at a daze-like stun, Electric loop does the job very well. Greater shout also but need a bit more practice with targeting.

    Mobs with SR check can be dealt with a couple of tries of Ottos, I wouldn't suggest picking up Sonic blast if you can't bypass SP. However, should be said that very few mobs have SR at all in eGH.

    Electric Loop and Greater Shout were what I was using as I based my sorc on yours and scoobs air savant builds. Greater Shout can be tricky at times to aim, but still liked the spell. Currently working on my 3rd sorc life so cant try sonic blast out. Main reason for considering it is beacause its will save while loop requires to beat reflex save before the daze on will and greater shout is fort. Also I always had hypno as my 4th lvl 1 spell, but with poor enchant dc I would prob be better off with sonic blast.

    I'm not sure how anyone could base a sorc build on both mine and this one, as they are so different that they are almost polar opposites.

    I think I'm going to use this as the basis of next life for my sorc...getting tired of the Shiradi Sorc.

    Thinking of EE Silver Ingot Arcanum instead of Twilight, though...>20 CitW without getting it (or even seeing it on my sorc, even in 20th list) has made me decide it's not worth it to get Twilight. Not sure where I'll pick up Major Evocation Focus, though.

    Far's sorc dies way less in EE.

    However I have following questions:

    1. Why nightshield and protection from evil? Does the resistance bonus from the spell stack with item? and don't you get protection from evil buff from airship? or is it still bugged?

    2. Would you mind explain how you get 19 UMD modifiers?

    3. Where did you get your +1 exceptional cha?

    Nightshield protects from Magic Missile - so does Shield, but shield sounds stupid.
    Protection from evil... Well. I had it on my sorc, death happens.

    19 UMD mod? It was from charisma.
    Breakdown of charisma is here: CHA: 50 (18 Base + 6 level ups + 4 Tome + 4 Enhancements + 8 Item + 1 Exceptional + 3 Insight + 5 Destiny +1 Great Charisma) = 50 CHA (+20)

    So, it was actually +20 mod, not +19. (Rest of UMD mod is explained)

    Hey Far, since I know you been messing around with Sorc's on Lama a little, are there any plans to update your build? I'd be really curious to know before I LR mine next week.

    1. As mentioned above Nightshield for the pesky MM and PFE is to prevent you from being greater commanded by priestesses or anything that commands. (handy to stay alive)

    Doh! I totally forgot about cha mods lol...and if the resistance bonus from nightshield does not stack, then I'd choose shield instead.

    You didn't read my post carefully dude, I know what the spells do but I was wondering why a sorc would have it taking up one spell slot when one can easily get it from one's guild airship buff, if it's not still bugged, as I mentioned.

    I'm sorry I didn't dissect your post word for word. Excuse me. The airship buff is still bugged and was mentioned quite a while back by the devs probably never going to be fixed (bottom of the pile). Of course that is always subject to change.

    PfE because the ship buff is bugged and because Command = death. Nightshield simply because of MM resistance. You can go with Shield but there wasn't much difference for me.

    Forgot to update that bit, it's +20 from a standing 50 CHA.

    As soon as U19 drops, I will make some major changes, including:

    I will have 3 Feats slot free because I will swap out: Extend (sigh), Toughness and the new feat slot at 27. I will go with:

    - Quicken (half of a waste but no better options, might keep extend.). It will be used for SLAs (I will have 5 of them + EBurst + DBreath and some spells like Solid Fog)
    - Mental Toughness: 1% Crit chance and some SP
    - Improved Mental Toughness: 1% Crit chance and more SP

    The epic feat at lv 26 will be +20 Electric Spellpower.
    The epic feat at lv 28 will be Hellball.

    Cha +11 item and Evocation +5 will bring my Evo DC to 58. Or something along those lines. Fully buffed with Solid fog and Waves it will be 65~68.

    I will lose 1 cha in the Enhancement but will get 1 from the +5 tome that sometime soon will come.

    I will go Air/Fire for the debuff/fire dot. Will have Burning Hands and Scorch SLAs.

    My spell list will be heavily revised.

    Ice storm -> wall of fire
    Prismatic Spray or maybe even Polar ray (sigh) -> DBF. Welcome greatest of all AOEs.
    Mass hold monster -> Meteor Swarm
    The cold dot will stay only because there is no other spell in that slot.


    Oh and once I acquire an Ottos Box, I will use the LR+20 to LR to Wizard and then TR again to Sorcerer to get a free Wiz PL (that will be swapped for Sorc PL).

    Many thanks sir. I have many decisions to make before I LR...mostly to see which/if any of the bugs you pointed are fixed. Even holding of upgrading my Twilight, just-in-case...Vulnerable + Fire Debuff def looks like strong single target DPS. Might just be worth switching out of my gimped Ice Savant. Altho the -1 to saves is a nice party buff too...
