Default The Great Big TR Checklist

4/30/13 - Rescued from Google Cache shortly after the the tragic forum purge of 2013. (I am the original poster)

EDIT: The original post can be seen here: http://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=355152

    General considerations:
    • Do you have a TRUE Heart of Wood? (from store or from the Twelve)
    • Have you collected all of you quest end rewards?
    • Have you collected all of your quest chain rewards?
    • Are you close to completing a quest chain?
    • Type "/quest completion" - Are you close to a 20th Raid completion or 3rd chain completion (especially for Mindsunder, Dreaming Dark)?
    • Have you tried the new quests yet? (try them while you are high level, they’re fun and have good loot)
    • Screenshot character appearance and character sheet for historical purposes
    • Save your hotbar / UI layout - Before TRing: type "/UI layout save" - After TRing: type "/UI layout load" (thanks for the tip LAUD)
    • Run a few loot quests and set aside some cash if you need it
    • Do you have another character flagged for the Shroud so you can keep collecting mats and have a steady income?
    • Seals of the Stormreaver and Seals of the Abbot (run the raids again before you TR) to upgrade some raid loot
    • Chat with your guild - Do you have a leveling buddy?

    Some thoughts on Epic Destinies:
    • If your destinies are not yet capped because you TR a lot, try leveling the destinies up a little at a time (advance at least 1 level of a destiny each life - it's fast and easy and you will be glad later).
    • One solo run through the King's forest (getting most explorers and a few rares), to the Underdark and then into Sschindylryn will take about 1 hour (more or less) and get you enough experience to get at least 1 full level of a destiny.
    • Wait to run Run the Eveningstar Challenges after you reach level 20 (run them with a difficulty of 21 or more). The Experience you get from these runs can help you gain destiny levels very quickly.

Have you planned out your next character?

Have you thought about the most efficient way to level up in your next life?

Quests by level and XP: http://ddowiki.com/page/Quests_by_Level_and_XP

For reference, this is (probably) the optimum quest order to establish and maximize elite bravery bonus (this really only matters if you are obsessive about xp):
    1. 659 xp - from The Cannith Crystal (244 base xp, no optionals)
    2. 878 xp - from the Storehouse Secret (292 base xp, no optionals)
    3. 1,228 xp - from Haverdasher (412 base xp, no optionals)
    4. 1,313 xp - from Bringing the Light (334 base xp, 30% optional) - you run Haverdasher and Bringing the Light (level 2 quests) early in order to maximize benefit from Heyton's Rest and especially the Collaborator.
    5. 2,599 xp - from Heyton's Rest (356 base xp, 20%, 20% 20%, 33% optionals)
    6. 3,813 xp - from The Collaborator (819 base xp, 25% optional) - this puts you about 1/2 way to level 3; farm collaborator after running it on elite

Favor considerations and items to purchase before Resurrecting:
    • How close are you to next TP / favor tier?
    • Did you collect your +2 tome from 1750 favor your next life? (If you are going for completionist, remember tomes now persist through TR. Might as well get one of each.)
    • Phiarlan pendant of time
    • Silver Flame pots (remember - maximum stack size is 10 not 100)
    • Marks of Silver Flame (for crafting)
    • Marks of Yugoloth (for crafting)
    • Marks of Cannith (ESSENTIAL for crafting - used for Masterful Craftmanship shards)
    • Cannith purchased crafting xp pots
    • Cannith purchased crafting success hammers
    • Large Ingredient bag from Twelve favor
    • Collapsed Portable Hole from Agents of Argonessan Favor
    • Deneith Wide Quiver
    • Deneith Thin Quiver
    • Deneith “Sturdy” bolts / arrows
    • Take the time to get you Key to Eveningstar so you can jump between the worlds without reflagging.
    • If you are close to finishing Purple Dragonknight favor in the Forgotten Realms, you may want to delay TRing and get your armor built.

    Flagging, & Turn Ins:
    • Is your Silver Flame / Emerald Claw Necropolis trinket upgraded?
    • Get your Sigil of Dal-Quor repaired
    • Save an extra set of the Phylactery, Orb of Djinn, and Blessed Blood from Desert farming runs (saves a little time if you want to jump into a convenient ATDQ elite run)
    • Complete an extra Sigil frame from Orchard of Macabre
    • Get your Boots of Anchoring
    • Consider farming the orchard for tome pages (or shield pieces) - Skiver, Sever, etc are pretty nice at mid levels.
    • Save 3 dragon gems and a set for Reaver’s Refuge
    • Grab or buy an extra Eberron, Siberys & Khyber dragonshard essences from Reavers Refuge (from quests or from Vorace - this saves you a little time if you want to jump into a convenient SoS elite run)
    • Get Drangontouched armor/docent appropriate for your next life (and if you are going to be an Artificer - get a DT docent for your pet!)
    • Collect 9 extra Shavrath trophies of war for rings in the next life
    • Turn in Invasion tokens and collect an appropriate reward if you have not already done so (if you haven;t looked at these lately, check out the updated versions:http://ddowiki.com/page/Invasion_Tokens
    • Collect 20 extra tapestry pieces from Orchard in case you want a different helm at level 11
    • 1 full set of fruit loops for Mindsunder
    • 6 of each essence for Dreaming Dark alter
    • unsuppress "something" in the Dreaming Dark - I always forget this.

Stuff to dump / get rid of to save room in cache for more useful gear:
    • Spell components (they're cheap, buy them later)
    • Guild pots from house K (easy to replace)
    • Tiny bags (these can be useful for organizing your stuff, but ditch them if you are not using them - I have several of each and don't need any more)
    • Note: You CAN throw away or sell SOME stuff at a bar and repurchase it after TR (but be careful what you choose, I can't seem to rebuy things I have crafted)
    • You can mail anything that isn't bound to an alt and just let it return to you in the mail in a few weeks.
    • You can also post BOUND TO CHARACTER ON EQUIP items in the shard auction house and simply end the auction after you TR to get your item back.

Augments to Buy BEFORE you TR - http://ddowiki.com/page/Augment_Slot...sable_Augments
    • Spell Power appropriate to your next life: http://ddowiki.com/page/Augment_Slot
    • Blue Sapphire of Moderate Fortification - ML4 - (from Clarice Roden in the Marketplace, Loura Jotun in the Marketplace)
    • Blue Sapphire of Heavy Fortification - ML8 - (from Chirugeon Laj'Amal in House Deneith, Verisgante in House Jorasco, or Seld the Gray Sister in House Phiarlan)
    • Yellow Topaz of Fear Immunity - ML8 (from Mantakhan in House Jorasco, Chor Blasthorn in House Kundarak, )
    • Yellow Topaz of Deathblock - ML12 (Level 12 Augments will be found in the Ruins of Gianthold in exchange for Ancient Elven, Giant, and Dragon relics)

How to organize your TR cache (more or less)
    • Fill your backpack and bank - it all goes in the TR cache and can be withdrawn when needed
    • I am still working on this puzzle, but I can confirm that ALL of the items in your personal bank slots will appear at the top of your TR Resurrection Cache list in an (apparently) random order.
    • If you have 100 bank slots, those 100 items will appear at the top of your TR cache. Items in your backpack and worn items are mixed together after that. There may be some order to this but it is not yet apparent to me.
    • If you have a pet, you CAN leave it equipped. the gear SHOULD migrate into your cache.

Default Another item to add to the list

I have not read all the posts so don't know if this has been mentioned. I did not see it in your list.

I would recommend grinding A Legend Revisited; Lvl 23 Three Barrel Cove: To get the Cursed Blade of Jack Jibbers. ML 1 self res as a wraith for 1 min.

The URLs have changed, or maybe it's an entirely different program, I'm not sure.

that list is definitely for the extreme OCD players.

At this point, just make sure you have a Carnifex and a voice/mantle before TR'ing. If you saved all your daily dice roll XP stones before TRing, you can usually start at level 3 or 4 (or more if you are really slow at levelling to 20) and never have to touch Korthos.

Game is so easy now, you can go from 1 to 20 without going back to bank every level to get new gear.

Get a set of +6 stat gear to put on at level 9 or 11 (or with new loot gen, maybe even better than that)

Lvl 1 -> 2 takes 8000 xp, you start at 1000 xp or so after the grotto. Where do you find 7000 xp since the average stone in daily dice rolls is 300xp? You'd need at least 20 rolls just for level 2.

Lvl 4 is 80k xp, that's like a whole year of daily dice (assuming you log in almost every day).

I addition to the Daily Dice Silver Rolls, you get a Weekly Gold Dice Roll for free if you are VIP. These are much higher XP value and can add up nicely. I ETR'd last life to Iconic so I didn't use my saved XP stones. Now I don't save any under 500 and have about 40 valued between 500 and 10k XP.

    My comments:

I save daily dice XP "orbs" that are larger than 300xp (I'm P2P) on a mule. There was a brief time that Turbine increased the XP value of these, so I actually had a 2,000 XP one saved, 2-3 1,000 XP ones and several 500-750. I had enough to take me right to level 2 when I TR'd for my current life. I just save off all the good ones, and only use the 100 and 300 XP ones. Because let's face it - 500XP is nothing once you go beyond level 4 or so.

A couple of twink items that you left off your list
http://ddowiki.com/page/Necklace_of_Contemplation - I LOVE this item, and wear it until level 6 or 7.
http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:The_Master%27s_Gift - I managed to slot this into a MW ring with Melee Alacrity on it that's ML 3. Very nice. You have to experiment with the different colored augment slots. Some of them have a higher ML than other.

A couple of other things that are often overlooked:
Turn in collectibles. If you want a stack of healing potions, but can't afford them. For example, you can turn in Amber Vials to http://ddowiki.com/page/Wash_Pynoptis in exchange for potions of lesser healing. Spend some time researching the collectibles system. It's not great, but you can get some really good stuff out of it.
For example, http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Potion_of_Cat%27s_Skill is a potion which grants an alchemical bonus (+1, +2, or +3) to any ability score (in this case, dex). That could be just the thing you need to help find a difficult trap (int), or open a high DC locked door (dex).

And speaking of Alchemical bonuses, I'm a huge fan of using the Stone of Change to augment my gear with alchemical bonuses. http://ddowiki.com/page/Stone_of_Change
For example, my Necklace of Contemplation (and my Voice of the Master) both have an Alchemical bonus to Saves on them. And if you have a really good weapon or armor that you plan to use at low levels, consider adding a Force dmg ritual to it. The Risia Ice Game are also really nice because you get the ingredients to add frost damage to non-named loot. That's a great thing to add to low level twink gear as well.
    Cannith:
Brigette; Completionist! || Aoeryn; Wiz20(3rd life).

speaking of my comment on extreme OCD...

Daily/Weekly rolls would be something a reasonable person would have deduced from my comment.

If someone is doing that original TR checklist, they are going to be spending just a week alone after hitting 20 to make sure they have checked it off, so they'll have plenty of time get lots of rolls.

I would also put a link to Character Builder Lite for Build Planning (I prefer this one)

That's nice and all but how can you factor this into a 1 TR/week?

It's nice that you saved some XP stones form 6 months ago when they doubled their value, but that's not something that happens on average.

If you plan to do 10 TRs to advance toward completionist over a few months, those few XP stones are not going to get you past level 4 every time you TR.

Like I said you get 2-3k XP per week from your silver rolls and that's it, nowhere near the 80k needed for level 4.

I know it from a fact, I do TR often. What's your source?

What is your issue? They're just giving good advice and clearly said "if you are really slow at leveling to 20", not if you TR once a week which most players don't do.

I'd recommend starting a new thread since you have committed some deep and forbidden necromancy.

I hope Cordovan doesn't lock this thread because even as a long-dead thread necromancy, there's really good stuff in here still.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

I can keep it open if people want. Serious necro, though, and semi-outdated info.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!
