I'm one of the many effected by the forum account association issues. I received this follow up e-mail today at 4:45PM EST, after submitting a ticket Monday night at 11:56PM (EST):

    Greetings *******,

Thank you for contacting Turbine Community Support.
We are currently working to re-associate your forum account properly. Please note that while we are working to resolve this issue for you:

    • We do still have all of your posting/reputation history from your desired forum name. It is simply currently disassociated, and we are working to correct this for you.
    • No one is able to "steal" your original forum name while we complete our work for you. If your account did not properly migrate, this can cause the system to fail to recognize your original forum name, but the system will disallow anyone else from taking your forum name in the meantime.
    • In cases where the display name has been associated with the wrong subscription on your account, we are able to correct this issue for you and you do not need to take any additional steps at this time.

Once we have properly associated your forum display names/posting history with your account, any temporary forum display name you may have picked in the interim will no longer be accessible. Posts made by the temporary name will still be visible on the forums, but won't be tied to your restored forum name.
Thank you for your patience, and we will send another update for you once we have resolved your forum issue.

    - The Turbine Customer Service Team

Figured I'd share, not sure if anyone else has posted such a response, because there are so many "hate" threads on here now.

Turbine, please find a way of fixing the "404 not found" issues. I was just wanting to know was it possible to move a character from one server to another and if so, how much USD is needed. Knowing that the answer was likely in the forums, I searched. "404 not found' was all I was able to learn. (Epic Fail for you too, Yahoo and Google... but I digress.). So, if anyone knows knows the answer to those questions, or can provide a link to the answers, I would be very grateful. See you in-game.
*Edit* Still had the 404 problem, but I did find the answer.

if you are talking about links to the old forum on googlesearch then check page 6 of this thread, you just have to edit the url abit from ddo.com to ddo.com/forums and it works

I agree... As you probably know, I'm usually on these forums every lunch hour every day...

New post traffic has died down considerably... and I'm not as interested in coming here every day anymore...

    Things to fix:
    (1) The auto-logout.
    (2) The dev-tracker

The main reason I check here every day is to see if there are any cool dev posts about some upcoming development. And now I can't do that.

Aye. I wonder why almost no one posts in the new class subforums, or the old class super-forums. Speaking of those, why weren't the threads tagged with classes resorted into the new subforums? Merging e.g. Ranger, Bard, Arty and Rogue into one Forum was debatable, but splitting them now is even more debatable if you don't manage to sort the posts which originally belonged to the, say, Rogue forums.

I know that I'm not posting anything because the new forum front-end is worse to navigate, doesn't remember me logging in, and does not allow me to connect to my >4k post old forums profile.

I'm not sure if it's still possible to subscribe to subforums, so basically all the usability was removed from with the recent update.

I'm glad that there are other DDO related forums with competent people.

I think this one is pretty easy to answer. The "new and improved" forums were never given to QA for a check over before they were launched.

When you consider that clicking on Community -> Forums doesn't even take you to the forums, I can't see any other possible answer. In any case, it's pretty sloppy work.

QA had about 15 minutes to check it out.... QA likely said... "Um no thanks..." I feel sorry for the people who actually HAVE to try and navigate this stinking pile of fly covered feces forum. Even if they're getting paid...

404error was laid off. That's why he can't be found.

Thanks for your patience, and welcome to the new forums!
I have a few questions or comments, if anyone has a chance to look at them or comment on them that would be nice. I'll stay away from the whole "forum/game logon combo" thing, as that's been discussed to death already. I'll also stay away from the layout/style discussions, since their not something I care about much.

    1. I have four accounts on my Turbine Account. Is there any way to make my normal forum account (Osharan_Tregarth) the default option? Or to re-order the account name listing so that it's the top one, at least?

    2. On the COMMUNITY tab, the FORUMS link goes to the Community page, and not the forums page. Is this deliberate, or will that be changing at some point in the future?

I can see reasons why you'd want to force people to view the community page, but I'm a fan of things that are labeled one way, doing the things that they're labeled to do.

    3. For logons, it would be a lot more convenient if there was a "remember me" checkbox somewhere.

I'm aware that there are some issues right now with logins/logouts/etc, but some of these aren't new issues by any stretch. Large chunks of ddo forum users in the past have needed to go to the myddo pages and logon there, with hitting the "remember me" checkbox there, in order to remain logged on on the forums.

    4. I generally use the usercp as the launching point for my DDO forum reading, so that I can look at my subscribed threads first to follow up on conversations. Previously, I could hit a minimize button for the infraction/warning area, and the forum rep areas. Am I just missing that option, or is it not present? There's a nifty little "quick navigation" button at the bottom of the page that looks pretty convenient, but I'm not going to be scrolling through x number of lines of forum rep given and received to use it.
Osharan, Esharan, Osharina, Usharina, etc... I'm the 'sharans. Epoxy. Notverysexy.
I've taken the craft disturbing mental image feat... You have been warned!
    Share and Enjoy!

The irony for me: these are the same icons and layout for NWO. LOL

Well, hopefully they get the forums back up soon and not [b]soon[b/]

I noticed this too. If they're going to copy Neverwinter I'd like to see the little mark that tells you when a thread has a dev post in it.

Could someone please tell me why we have gray text on a gray background when responding to threads?

Is this some kind of unintended consequence of dealing with the invisible yellow text on white background issue?

I am glad that I am a good touch typist, but many are not, and it's hard for me to believe that this display choice/error will result in more unreadable forums in terms of typographical errors than before.

Yeah they ruined the forums. This is just not designed for longterm reading. Actually its a the #1 community buster in the history of DDO, Tolero, in my opinion. It will destroy the community from the inside out.

Even though the number of forumites make up a small portion of the overall DDO community, it encompasses the movers n shakers. These are the guild leaders, the ones who share their game knowledge the most, the ones who have been around the longest.

Default A new forum look with broken links and changed names to boot!

My name is no longer what it used to be... don't know why and it sucks...
Also, as many others, my post count and rep was reset (not that I had any rep but it still hurts...).

Also, it appears that all links directing to the forums from Google (haven't tried other search engines) are now broken! Yay! Which means searching the forums now must be done through the slow, inaccurate forum search option which doesn't ever return what I'm actually looking for, but that is beside the point... kinda.

Fixed by changing the /en/ to /forums/ and ?p= to /
    https://www.ddo.com/en/showthread.php?p=4907639 ---> https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/4907639
But this is still temperamental and very annoying.
