Forum Update!

Hmmm.

I chose a different name than what I had before (thought it might be a security measure to hide your actual logon name) and it appears that I don't have any of my post count or history.

Is there any way to have that linked to this new forum account or is it just gone forever?

Pretty disappointed with the forum. I'm really not seeing where the advantage of the new forum compared to the old forum.

Yeah, it looks like it cost more money than the old forum. However, I could pop open about 10 pages in the old forum and read them by the time a single page opens on this new forum.

I didn't think it could be done, but Turbine did something on the forums worse than combining the Class threads.

Well, this is an ugly mess.... Looks like someone wanted a 90s retro forum feel. Minor blunder compared to other stupid things Turbine has been doing, but a blunder nonetheless.

The forum's retro look is the least... I can't login with my VIP account. At least the game still acknowledges I exist, unlike this 90's forum that Turbine came up with.

Oh wait... 90's... this game didn't even exist... I see the problem now...

Yep, me too. Same exact problem. This is a temp account. Get it fixed guys.

This is like what happens when a still great looking and fantastic Hollywood persona decides they are afraid of a few laugh lines and overreacts with too much botox and plastic surgery. In turn, they ruin what they had while trying to look younger and prettier... instead winding up looking like a nightmarish caricature of themselves. These new forums are a cosmetic disaster. Unmitigated cosmetic disaster.

So they look like Micahel Jackson post 100 cosmetic surgeries..... Except they managed it in 1 fell swoop.... Yep.... BRAVO!!! (I live in L.A. and am often around the The biz type people, I know and see FAR too much of the pitfalls of cosmetic window dressing type stuff. Yep this looks like a botox gone bad for sure... )

Yeah, myddo is dead so there won't be pretty signatures anymore. Maybe they'll implement some new way of making shiny signatures. Until then, I will have to go with links to YourDDO pages (click the link in my sig to see what I mean, if you don't already know). Given that half of my characters didn't actually generate working signatures I'm not too cut up about the loss.

Well, that's not shinny as MyDDO (nor easy, once the MyDDO signature is automatically generated and updated) but is the best we can do so far...

A small bit of constructive criticism regarding the forum template and fonts... (I know, like you really need more critiques...)

I would consider changing the Font for topic names when looking at post lists. It's an all uppercase serif font which is really hard to read when you are scanning a long list of topic titles. Please consider verdana or arial mixed case.

Other that, some great new eye candy.

i like the background, but I feel so confused and lost. the old forums I felt was easier to get around and understand.

If the forum looked a little bit more like the DDO front page, it'd look a LOT better -- though I'm not necessarily referring to the transparency effects LOL

The current grey background and the blinding white combox hurt the eyes...

If you sent in a ticket using the link Tolero give it sends you back a response saying "sorry, we can't help you with that" lol
