ToD rings for Druids?

I've recently upgraded a ToD ring with Holy Burst for my Monk, and it's very nice.
Would that work for a Druid in animal form, as they are considered unarmed, regardless of what weapon they've got?

From what I've read and seen (I only tested it on a drunk build) it works but only if you have a ki weapon. People have said that if you use a shield, scimi, ext it doesn't. I can confirm if you are holding a qstaff, wraps it does work.
