I don’t like PFRPG, but it shows how many people see that WOTC made a mistake at the beginning of third edition. Are you suggesting that Turbine repeat the same mistake, after one decade? It's time to do things right from the start. By fluff elves have always been great wizards (too in 3.X: favored class, wizard), and their number choices should reflect this.

    Archer and dex-based warrior options are ok for the race. They are fluff-wise. Nature-related options are ok for the race (although Phiarlan elves are more about illusion) But wizard choices are too fluff wise (remember: favored class wizard, in second and third editions) Why do you want limit the race? And elves too need more choices for multiclass wizard-fighters (a few caster level bonuses for multiclass toons would be nice) Elven wizard archmages are a classic, but the fighter wizard too.
    AD&D boned elf wizards with level restrictions as well so no in D&D Elves have never really been great at magic they have been great at blending magic with other things. 4th really tried to give high elves (Eladrin) the wizard game with the +Dex +Int show unfortunately they made wand Implements which elves excelled at because they were based on dex utter and complete fail in comparison to orb and staff Implements. Which was further complicated by Dex/Int both modifying the same defenses.

    But once again I have no issue making elf fit the lore of Elves being good at magic. but they already have that +3 Spell pen, extra SP, and +1 with enchantments are all available. Those things should be far more valuable to DC wizards and that I think is a good role for the pure elf wizzy. WF get survivability Elf Gets dependability, Humans make better blasters it actually fits pretty well thematically. I do like the extra caster levels Idea for multi classed Wizards but it seems they are trying to break away from making elves go wizard and it just wouldn't fit thematically for sorcs clerics ect...
