Another dumb newb question

I am not sure I completely understand what the collars do for my Druid's wolf pet. The DDO wiki makes it sound like the enhancements get applied as if the pet were a weapon. So, am I correct in my belief that if the naked pet would have done X amount of damage on an attack, the pet with a +1 enchantment collar would do X+1 damage?

Yes. Say the pet's base damage is d6+3 Pierce, Slashing.
Adding a +2 Flaming collar to the pet should have the same effect as adding those to a weapon. It will now do d6+5 Pierce, Slashing, Magic and d6 fire.
