    Default DPS/surival monk

Is there any custom build that offers great end game dps + some decent survivability? The Metaru 2.0 build seems dated and everyone says wind is better etc. So what of it? Is there any builds around (that are up2date) with high dps/decent survivability?

    thanks

    Healing amps the key.

Take racial and monk healing amp
Wear healing amp items 30% and 20% item.
Grind favor and get SF pots
    If helf take cleric dilly

A unboosted healing scroll heals over 300. SF pot heals high 600s

For cc its high stunning fist which was in other threads.

My vote is HE WIS-based light monk: cleric dilly to max out your survivability (Heal scrolls, buffs, etc.); rog dilly for extra DPS; or ftr dilly for +2 DCs to Stunning Blow & Fist. Preferably with Void Strike IV: expensive, but a 5% chance of a free instakill is pretty handy.

The biggest drawback to going for Void Strike IV is it costs almost half your APs to get; that plus Shintao pre-reqs doesn't leave enough pts for everything else you might want. E.g., I would've liked more heal amp and to max WIS enhs, but it's tough to squeeze in.

I'm going to TR my FvS to Monk after I do a few things first, so thanks for sharing the build. My questions is why take stunning blow and stunning fist?

I'm curious too. If all level up points are going into WIS I really can't see the point in Stunning Blow which uses STR for it's DC's. I suppose it might work until about level 12 ish.

You need stunning blow to take the half-elf fighter dilettante enhancements that give +2 dc to stuns (if you so choose). Other than that, dc on stunning blow will be much lower since build isn't str-based, so it won't get much use aside from unlocking that.

First version of this build was STR-based w/ftr dilly for +2 DCs; need Stunning Blow to unlock the enhs. But even without, since Stunning wraps boost Fist & Blow, why not have both? Substitute a different feat if you prefer.

Another option you have, is to multiclass your monk, like a modified Emerald build for example, for more saves, Prr, features and HP: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=349837&page=15

Can do a 12Monk/6 fighter/2 paladin, or 2 artificer for umd so can take Rogue or fighter or paladin dilly instead cleric.
