    Default 40 action point pre-requisite

After having tried to invest in several trees, it became rediculously difficult to reach the 40 ap limit in one tree just so I can take upper tier enhancements. If I took NOTHING out of my racial tree, that leaves me with 42 points spent in one tree. I have a measly 38 points left to distribute amongst two other trees whose action point limits I need to obey in order to pick a few abilities here and there - often forcing me to take things I don't want. This happens because I spent 42 points in one main tree.

Suggestions: This was mentioned in a different thread but I'd like to stress this here:

    a) Please lower the pre-requisite AP expenditure in each tree - especially that 40 point one. OR

    b) Keep the values the same, but allow the racial tree to count toward the PrE limits in each tree.

For instance, the action points spent in say, kensei, only count toward kensei. The ap's spent in stalwart count toward stalwart. But, the ap's spent in your racial tree count toward the limit in both PrE trees.

That, in my opinion, would be a friendlier system.

That kind of defeats the purpose of setting those limits at 40 AP. Which was to prevent characters from maxing more than one PRE tree.

A better system would be to separate Enhancements from PREs and using points spent in class as the cost for climbing PRE trees. Say one panel with class enhancements and a second with PRE trees with every pint spent in the class panel adding to the points available to spend in the PRE panel. That way those points spent on other class odds and ends would count towards one's chosen PRE, while spending the lions share of points on class enhancements might allow one to completely climb one PRE tree and partially climb one or more other trees. Setting the costs at 5/11/21/41 (5/6/10/20 with prereqs of having the lower tier) points spent in class would allow keep the one full PRE limit but allow for a lot of lower tier PRE splashing.

It would also move away from the seemingly arbitrarily placement of many existing enhancements.

A better way to do this is to grey out all capstone PRE's if one is already taken. Then the point distribution can be anything they want.

Well, right now there isn't any distinction between class and PrE enhancements. Its all either PrE or racial as far as the panels are concerned.

The hard part is going to be agreeing upon a convention of what is strictly a class ability, and what is a PrE ability.

I don't think its unreasonable to allow the racial points to count toward the 40 limit in PrE trees given that there is substantial appeal for higher tier abilities in each tree.

To put it differently, I'd prefer to have so many good options that I don't have enough points to take them all than to have so much ****, that I don't know where to shove my points to get to the better stuff.

Right now, its the latter situation in its entirety.
