There isnt an ever increasing need to specialize. In fact its quite the opposite. Those who do specialize end up not being able to contribute as well in quests where their specialty isnt viable for whatever reason. The game is seeing alot more builds that can fill alot more roles than it used to pre expansion.
Which means no one in their full senses is taking that ability.
