I'm not really happy about the changes to the Dilettante's.

Currently, I use the Monk Dilettante, and dont' take any of the meaning less add wisdom to my ac. I'm not at enough ac that it would make any difference, but now, to get the improved recovery, I have to waste points in ac?

If it let me add my wisdom to dodge, then that would be nice, but right now, it moved my ac (on test) from a 38 to a 43.

Also, where is the Racial Toughness?

I agree. Forcing player to waste points in things like AC (when last updates broken AC completely making it a trash for anyone besides tank if ure playing EE content) is not cool.
Id say it should be "spend X points in tree to get it". Theres a lot of abilities like that. not only in this one.
I understand that to take e.g." weapon dmg 2" u need to take "weapon dmg 1". It makes sense. But taking e.g.AC to get healing amp is not really connected.

I found +4 Action Boost...but I couldn't figure out how to get to +5 Action Boost

It wasn't clear to me if Human Versatility IV was still there, or how to get it.

My page refreshed and all I wrote is gone :/

Anyway - things that needs to be changed:
    1. Dilletante specials . BOTH. Some are fine but:
3 spellpower or 1 dr is not good. 10 stacking spellpower and 3 stacking dr on the other hand...
Also the trap has dc of 10+half character lvl + HALF int mod = LOL ?
To get to 60 dc you would need like 160 int... Fix it. Even if its not half int mod then still... like 80 int to make it work in EE content.

Also dragonmarks are complete trash in here - especially compared to halfling heal or dwarf erathgrab.
    Other skills are decent.
Bottom row well... decent but I dont see anyone needing that many boosts.

Im kinda sad theres no heal amp and half of tree is dilletante stuff. Its mostly good stuff but still...

I have to say Im kinda dissapointed.
And we still need -10 to ugliness

Racial toughness has been taken out:

Look like the class toughness may still be in though, it's there for Fighter.

Would anyone be kind enough to post the enhancements list for those of us without the Lama client, please?

huh? looks like there's amp to me at tier 2 and 4 in the HELF tree, as well as in the monk dilly.

If I counted right, you'll need 7 AP just in the chain to get to CLR lvl 10 casting skill, which will include a mandatory +1 CHA or WIS, plus a total (inclusive of the 7) 22 AP spent in the whole HELF tree to get to the 10th level cleric. The new option for them is +3 universal spell power which cost additional 2 AP, and is available at two levels.

The part I'm not keen on is how they open the AA tree... It will take a total of 14 AP in the HELF tree to open AA (14 is also required for ELF tree)... Then another 42 or so in the AA tree to make it to just one of the tier 5 abilities... So that's 56 AP sunk... And thus only 24AP left for your primary class tree, which is going to leave you not as versatile as before. Some of the current builds (like radiant archers) are just not going to be the same anymore given you need another 40 AP to open up top tier abilities in cleric like (what used to be radiant servant) healing aura. Accessing AA via HELF tree seems much less friendly then in the current system.

Not impressed so far. as others have said, spending far to much on **** that we dont need to get CLOSE to where we are currently.

So in order to get the cleric dilly to where I can use heal scrolls, I need to spend over 20 points, including such hits as arcane fluidity, spell casting bonus, and charisma. all winners for a kensai monk.

Is turbine going to offer true hearts for the DESTROYED characters? keep in mind a lesser reincarnate really wont cut it. at all.

Question to any dev, is this like other lam updates? is this set in stone like a preview, or are you taking feedback and will consider changes at this point?

    Cheers.

Sure was nice of Turbine to give us our guild its own avatar.

Seems clear to me that Turbine has gazed upon the top tier of players. The Shiradi Casters, the Juggernauts, and yes, even the venerable Tukaws, and said "Yea Verily, Inhale It, Feminine Canine!"

    Hi,

That is signature material, right there.

Also, I would like a beauty tree in which I can spend points to make my helfs less ugly. That would be worth a load of AP to me.

    Thanks.

    Somewhat agreed...

Some like Radiant Archer are completely destroyed and not nearly as viable. Actually I'd go so far to say any of the 12 Cleric builds are screwed as radiant servant abilities are too costly now. If they do to Ninja Spy what they did to servant and spread stuff you used to get at 12 out to 40+AP, the 12 monk builds are in trouble too.

On the other hand Juggernaut is really barely affected, and in fact I'd even say it's buffed as it was really ED dependent and a handful of enhancement points to waste. It will now be able to pick up some basic enhancements from the AA tree and WF tree.

Shiradi Sorc/Wiz likewise is completely ED dependent. Unless they change the ED, that build is still viable.

Oh man, I haven't even played with Enhancements for my Helf Ranger/Fighter/Rogue with Cleric Dilettante yet, but I'm getting a bad feeling about this one too...

Anyone tried the Fighter Dilettante on a Cleric yet? In what new, creative way have they hosed that?

    Default screwing multiclass

    1) i Always thought that in this tree system, the core abilitys were autogranded at spending X amount of points in that single tree, now they still cost AP

    2) if you want to get decent AA you can max get another lvl6 prestige (like many said before) becouse you need to spend points in things you don't want AND where previously points counted generally, they're now splitted up, so maybe lower the AP spend needed for the abilitys, but give them a minimum lvl. So we aren't forced to get thing we DON'T WANT TO HAVE, and are able to balance out our builds like before (you got now same AP spend needed as before, but all general AP are split up so you never can get builds like before!)

I tried a new helf 20 cleric i rolled on lama last night. I took the sorc dilly. I really like having elven arcanum available. Unfortunately, that is now the only reason I could ever see to roll a half-elf if this goes live without SUBSTANTIVE changes. Like "go-back-to-square-one" type of changes, not just window dressing, or toning down the most flagrant nerfing.

The dilettante now requires a massive, unsustainable investment in the racial tree. I cannot justify dumping that many points into useless stuff just to get higher caster levels on Sorc dilettante. I needed 22 AP invested into the racial tree to open up caster level 10 on the dilettante (20 AP spent pre-requisites and 2AP for the caster level 10 improved sorceror dilettante). Compare that to 6 AP on live right now.

I have to waste more AP to improve skills (things like heal, repair) just to unlock any higher dilly levels. And the pinnacle of a caster dilettante? Once I have 22AP invested, I can drop 2AP more for Spellcasting II which nets a whopping +3 universal spell power. Whoop-dee-expletive-doo. How can someone view that as an appropriate reward for the investment of more than a quarter of my action points in the racial tree?

For +2 tactics (fighter dilly) or 10% healing amp (monk dilly), I could see someone possibly debating the AP cost. For +3 USP? Forget about it. As far as the racial tree on a half-elf sorc dilly on a cleric goes, I would max out elven arcanum for +3 spell pen and 100 SP, get sorc dilettante to caster level 6, grab 10% healing amp, and escape after 15 AP spent. The rest of it is far too costly.

Other problems with the enhancement "tree" included:

I had to waste time picking which dilly I wanted to improve. Since it is based on a feat, and since the trainer knows which feat I have, why am I even seeing a list there?

The AP cost and pre-requisite cost (eg, 2AP cost, prerequisite 10 AP spent) was not displayed for all of the enhancements in the tree prior to selecting them. That makes it more difficult to plan your spending.
