18 Sorc/2Pally

I have been hearing a bit about this kind of build, though doing a search has not really turned up any viable options that are recent.

I am in a TR project and looking to try out some different builds along the way. With 2 Sorc lives to get out of the way, I thought I would try this kind of build.

I am looking for Pros/Cons to this build and most hopefully an example of this kind of build.

And help would be appreciated. Thanks.

18 sorc / 2 pally isn't really a TR build

It is primarily an endgame flavour of the month (fotm) build

Pros:
charisma to saves

cons:
-20 spell power (capstone)
- some SP

At 20 you have almost as many useful spell slots as the pure sorcerer and an enormous boost to saves. That is very tempting.

While leveling you delay all of your spell levels. That is not tempting at all.

If you are playing a build that will spend no time at level 20 and therefore all of its time leveling, an 18/2 sorcadin (or "sorly") is not a good choice.

Calling one of the classic splits from PNP and something that has remained somewhat popular here and which has had a recent upswing in popularity "flavor of the month" is kinda undermining it's longevity ...

This build in DDO is commonly used for End Game play and has been seen used with Shiradi Champion ED

Some even waiting until 19/20 to actually take Paladin levels so as to not interrupt spell progression and to gain the Save bonuses for Epic Levels.

Because this type of build has -2 Spell Penetration built in it is generally partnered with low cost but multiple target spells such as but not limited to; Magic Missile, Force Missile and Chain Missile (best used for large groups)
