This build is for Bear form only! ...

So, let me know what you guys all think... I was going for a decent amount of double-strike and the monk class gives me evasion which is really nice! Fighter gives me a few extra feats and the Human choice is for the healing AMP.

Only thing I can say that I really don't like too much is that you have to be centered for monk side but my fighter side really gives the class an Umph! I know that if I had more levels of Druid I could get higher level heal skills so, I'm open to suggestions!

    Thanks Everyone!

Also don't let it fool you, you can add a Tome to the build at level 7 if you want to. .. +2 or +3 ....

When I asked about a bear form build I was told that the major problem is slow animation which results in a very slow attack speed. I cannot see anything that really overcomes that liability or makes it worth building a bear form character for any reason other than a flavor build.

TBH, I'm not impressed with any of the druid animal forms. None seem to rival the kind of damage that players can get by using weapons.

IMO, it you are going for a combat build you can probably do better w/o the druid levels.

You do make an excellent point! Seriously... Bear is freakishly slow! But, the way I built him was to not rely on basic attacks but to mainly rely of Cleave and Great Cleave. That is kind of the secret to bear builds.
I got one to level 20 once and that was my first one, bear all the way and was a decent tank and caster. They are basically battle casters with great AC.

Now, once you use certain weapons like maces or what not you crit like crazy! Especially with improved critical. The build is not for everyone, but what I'm asking is is it practical as far as a Druid goes when not using wolf form?. Like, would this actually work ?

depends on the difficulty & your equip & your skill & group or not.
I wouldnt use Bear form in epic hard but then i only have **** equip.
btw double strike does not work with cleave/gr.cleave so if you stand against 1 enemy do not use them except you want to load blitz.

    Tis true.

Though a wolf form with ic bludgeon with shadow staff or dreamspitter is a level draining machine, which is awesome for the final stretch of a tr life, meaning if you find yourself doing RR or IQ for the last 200k or so.

@op, if this is just a tr life, human form druid cleaveing and great cleaveing with a carnifex, sos or lit II falchion with reaving roar procing will decimate everything through vale of twilight. after that drop reaving roar for fatal harrier.

If you really want monk route, here is one problem, you can use monk abilities in animal form, stunning fist touch of death etc, but you have to stay centered, which means no shield (kamas are fine, so are staves and wraps), which means lower double strike.

and even with both shield mastery feats and 3 natural fighting feats (thats 28% double strike) thats less attacks than just taking 3 twf feats (80% off hands attacks) and staying out of animal form. you will notice sub par dps once you reach sands, and it never catches up.

Wolf form is great for very low levels for single target dps because of the increased attack speed, but mostly because thf and twf cant afford the feats to make them shine yet. but even by level 8 or so it falls behind. Bear form cant even say that, its just bad.

Stop. Reroll. Bear form is terrible. I've learned that through disappointing personal experience.

You do not have to remained centered in order to benefit from Evasion; you just need to wear light armor or outfits. Which is good, because you took Shield Mastery & ISM, and shields make you uncentered. You do have to stay centered if you want other monk goodies, though, like stances, Stunning Fist, etc.

Also, why did you take the Kensei pre-reqs but not Kensei itself?
Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.

I didn't take Kensei because the build is based on survival... plus enhancements can can always be moved around, so not a huge deal. You will outlive most people in your party with insane self heals.

Now, the monk part for me is confusing... I'm not totally sure that a monk can fit into the build, but I am trying it out anyways myself. I've already made 2 level 20 bear only druids and one of them is about to hit level 21. Its really about the gear honestly. Wall of Wood = 10% healing amp, Brawling Gloves work because attacks are unarmed, Lense of Opportunity give you +4 seeker and sneak attack, ect... just depends what you put on your druid really. My Bear is really fun, hes not super fast and I don't expect him to kill everything in the room.

The build is about staying alive, having fun staying alive and supporting the entire party as a DPS/Tank/Healer/Caster.

This particular build is more TANK/DPS/Healer than a caster.

No, I will not reroll. People going the easy way with Wolf Form should try to find a way to play bear, which is the reason I am trying to make it work for everyone. Wolf build is TOOOOOOOO easy WAY TOO easy to make. It simple like making a Long sword Kensei fighter... -_- Bear form takes patience it takes a certain finesse.

Plus they do great if you can get MAX double strike.... which this build has. Fighter enhancements like Haste speed work very well... Kind remind me of my Khopesh build... really slow with out Haste.

Don't sell Bear form so short, you might like it.
