Default Downloading DDO Unlimited: 0 B at 0 Bps: Calculating time remaining ...

The "Standard Resolution" DDO Unlimited download that I'm attempting for my laptop isn't going very well; the download screen is not downloading anything and hasn't been for quite some time, across multiple attempts.

My first attempt did lead to one file being fully downloaded, but all subsequent attempts have gone nowhere. Deleting the partially downloaded stuff and uninstalling PMB has had no effect.

I have a windows 7 computer with lots of free storage space that otherwise works just fine, and my internet connection is also fine.

Suggestions for what the problem might be would be helpful and appreciated.

it could be one of many different things like firewall settings, UAC, or virus software. My advice to you get the game through steam much better method of downloading and less prone to the horribleness of PMB.

I would definitely advise checking your Firewall settings. It's the primary culprit quite a lot of the time. You may need to make an exception to let it through so that it can download. You'll need to do the same thing to the game when you do get it downloaded and installed by the way.

I would guess that, given how many people just suddenly started having this problem recently, and that I've not seen anyone with this problem, say, more than a week ago, it's not firewall settings.

But if it is firewall settings, surely someone could state what specific ports are involved, and what changed in every firewall program out there at once to suddenly block them starting this week?
    Yes, that seebs.

I am having the exact same problem. I checked my firewall settings and pando has full permission. I also ran through every troubleshooting measure that was listed on the forums and the Pando website to no avail.

I was considering downloading the game through steam and i was wondering if anyone had problems going through that service.

Here is the OP of another thread on the same topic in "Technical Support", thread is at this link:

I have tried on several different machines (Win7/Win8) and all affected in the same way.
And it seems here is the origin of the problem:

But all the download links are to the Pando one, which I think they officially switched away from about a year ago. Wondering whether the "about a year" is significant in that, say, they're no longer paying Pando to host seed servers for it, and you now need the Happy Cloud downloader. Which I can't find.
So, apparently we all need to go find a "Happy Cloud" or get "Steamed" to find an answer.

    Ditto.

Firewall turned off and exceptions added. Had no problems with LOTRO.

I submitted a bug report, using the "Submit a Bug" link at the top of the forum.

The sooner they get a bunch of these bug reports, the sooner they'll probably figure out this is a serious problem and fix it.

    Post Solution found!

The problem is the firewall and has somehow changed. What you have to do is open up your firewall found in the control panel and add a new program but this time go to your downloads and add the INSTALLER! Forget about turbine because it wont be there.

    Hope this helps!

Im still having this problem; since no one answered i guess it was fixed somehow so i dont really get it. It cant be a firewall problem; since i tryed to totaly shut off my firewall and still not downloading (before i had tryed the solution given above but just in case...)

I dont really see what else i can try to get this game; i looked for torrent and its not very promising....
