like the tile says for 4 out of 5 boot ups of the game (even after rebooting the computer) the mouse cursor wouldn't stop scrolling up to the top of the screen.
Then on about the 5th restart it cleared up, but it has done this once before. Does anyone know why it may happen at all?

Could be lots of things from dirt in the path of the laser, bad/corrupt drivers, software conflict, or a dying mouse. What kind of mouse do you have?
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

AZ pretty much covered it. Problem isn't the PC, problem is the mouse.
