Looking for a browser based game to pass the time on slow work days.
Recommendations welcome.
PS Runescape is horrible.

I've only ever done the turn-based build your kingdom attack other player/npc kingdom browser games. Interested to know of any good ones too.
Not an MMO, but Mechwarrior Tactics is great. I played Battlestar Galactica online for a little bit, it was kinda fun and it's also browser based.
I also tried playing Family Guy Online, it's a little silly but can be fun.
If it's a work computer where you can't download/install stuff, bring a USB Drive with Visual Boy Advance and some GBA/GBC ROM's.
drakensang online is probally best looking browser game and kinda fun
both great options, i've played and enjoyed them.
Realm is tough, the combat is frantic and REQUIRES twitch skills, and its a permadeath only game. reaching max level and staying there is a real challenge.
Drakensang suffers from a bit of P2W IMHO, but can still be fun. i haent played it in months cuz i got tired of not being powerful enough cuz i couldnt afford to pa for good gear.
now for my own reccomendation: Dungeon Rampage
its a Facebook game, yes, but a good one that avoids being P2W by allowing (almost) everything you can buy with $$$ to be acquired through Grinding (very much like DDO actually)
The Funniest Thing I've Ever Read
Toons: Twengor (pal), Margween (Bard/FTR/Rogue), Nestrana (wiz), Ammerlyn (Arti), Ostarin (Monk) on Cannith
Here's a few I've played over the years:
Kingdom of Loathing is just great. Tongue-in-cheek turn-based MMORPG. Pop references and stick figures abound.
Billy Vs. Snakeman is a very loose parody of Naruto and various other manga and anime.
Forumwarz is a game about posting in forums. Totally meta, and absolutely offensive.
Illyriad.co.uk
Realm of the Mad God is amazing. Played it for 5 hours today! woot!
I don't know if it's your idea of an MMO (certainly not an MMORPG), but of the browser-based games I played, Tribal Wars was one of the better ones.
