I think this is a Great Splash.

CLR17/WIZ1 is what I take till lvl18. You can melee easy with Master's Touch spell for proficiency, and you get Force Manipulation 1 for Blade Barrier, and another meta feat. You get Wiz umd for things like the Wizwar staff with greater arcane lore too.

I just don't see enough posts mentioning the spell Master's Touch with this splash
If gives Martial Proficiency in your equipped weapon.

The 1 wizard brings much more than that.

Extra free metamagic feat
Force enhancement for stronger blade barriers
Splashing without losing extra spell points

1 wizard is a great splash due to cleric capstone being meh

Many battle clerics go either 2 fighter or monk with the 1 wiz. Going 17 instead of 18 is fine due to no tier 3 pre and the liss of cleric 18 is minimal
