Lol, well played bro. But your real source of power are the epic destinies, not the epic levels. I know what you mean, but they decided to design the game this way.

You should deifinitely buy the epic destinies or motu expansion if you didn't do it yet

You also get 1 skill point per level which is quite nice after you reach cap.

+5 to skills some may not consider super epic but I think it's quite nice.

You will also get another stat point and two more feats.....some of these if I am not mistaken are epic only feats.

It's not as if your road to level 25 will only grab you 50 more HP........I also could have sworn SP gain from 21+ is only rewarded through the ED system.

The big gain from 21-22 is in the gear. Same with 22-23, etc. Take a look at the AH for each epic level for an idea of the increase available.

And as already stated, Epic Destines are where a lot of the power comes from.

best lvl is 23, by far

what a pity u don't get a feat and ability point, but 23 is the level where nice gear appears(can be upgraded but increases ml sometimes XD)

    and think about that:

    epic xp, no purchase

    epic destiny xp, purchased

is like comparing f2p quests/classes/races with p2p ones, non-sense right?

btw, at lvl 20 you can take your maxed ED with all twists, at this point you can get elite bb in all eberron quests, because like you said, epic lvls only give 2 feats(epics or not), 1 ability point, 5 skill point and 50hp, acces to gear too, but ddo isn't gear dependant
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm

I can't back it up, but I SUSPECT those level ups were placeholders devs implemented until the enhancement pass.

I have an unfounded sneaky suspicion in the future some of the epic rules from PnP will come into play such as +1 atk, +1 saves, +dc, +caster levels, etc.

To be fair, even the PnP epic levels aren't too epic if you stick with the basic classes.
Mostly the good stuff was on the PrCs, the multiclassing over 20 and taking stuff with level adjustment.

DDO has none of that, so they bundled what now passes for epic in the destinies.
What i'd agree is that some basic tree for the f2p would have been nice, say, one per sphere, nothing too fancy.

Now enhancements over 20, that's something worth suggesting.

I'd prefer 1-4 action points per 'epic' level than current **** we get.

I doubt it. They make them wimpy so its important that people pay $ to buy ED. If ED wasn't heads and shoulders above Epic levels few would fork out the $$$$

Think of epic levels more as placeholders for your progress relative to the game.

If the devs had simply given us the destinies, we'd either only be able to take one (essentially functioning as epic classes), or we'd be losing access to our 21+ gear, feats and ability scores each time we moved to a new destiny. The epic levels are more like a marker saying, "You are this --- far and can use things this --- high." They spiced things up a little by also granting a few bonuses along with all that.

PnP epic levels are pretty stupid, from the rather dull advancement of martial classes (more feats), to the ridiculously overpowered nonsense arcanes gain (level 10+ spells, epic spells...and more feats). Would you really be more excited about your epic level advancement if you were getting an additional BAB at each level (mind you, epic levels in DDO do carry attack and save bonuses with them, as far as I'm aware).

The levels with and without destinies can't be compared directly.
In a sense, the destiny is similar to having to qualify to a PrC in PnP. (and thus get epic)
As it is now you aren't epic enough without destinies.

Here i'm just remembering the option that you don't neccessarily turn epic magically at 21.
DDO has Es and EDs instead of class options, so you pretty much make your own PrC by freely customizing.
(which is kind of the grial of 3.5e)

Now the point of the destinies was that you can get into the destiny after TRing, right at 20.
Naturally one can't just pile up the basic stuff like the feats and gear tier from past lives.
Hence we still need regular levels to go along with the destinies.
