    Default TR Revamp and Completionist.

    So having just become a Completionist I've learned a few things about this game. I also feel i know a way to improve the current system without changing it overly much.

    It starts as a Tree view much like EDs
    The bottom row, row A
    A1 - A2 - A3 - A4 - A5

    In this row is an Destroyer, Restorer, Primal, Survivor, General abilities.
    Destroyer = Wizard, Sorc, Arti
    Restorer = Cleric, Pally, FvS, Bard
    Primal = Barbarian, Druid, Ranger
    Survivor = Monk, Rogue, Fighter

    Each past life in a class, up to 3 maximum per class gives you a Past life Point of one of the 4 types.
    Where the innate in EDs are is a purchasable Past life Active feat slot for 4 points. You can still use a feat slot to get an active past life. You still have to have it unlocked.

    A1 Grants +1 Spell Pen +20 SP / 2 tiers
    B1 Grants +1 Spell Pen +1 Evo and Wand DCs / 2 Tiers Requires 1 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    C1 Grants +1 UMD and INT skills and Wand DCs / 3 Tiers Requires 2 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    D1 Grants +2 Spell Pen +10 SP +1 Evo DCs / 1 Tier Requires 6 Past life points spent in this tree for tier 1.
    E1 Grants +1 All Spell and Wand DCs and is required for Completionist. / 1 Tier Requires 9 Past Life Points for tier 1.

    A2 Grants +1 Songs, Turns and Will saves / 3 Tiers
    B2 Grants +1 Turn Levels, Spell pen and +10 SP / 3 Tiers Requires 1 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    C2 Grants +1 Conj DCs and +10 SP / 3 Tiers Requires 2 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    D2 Grants 5% Healing Amp and +10 Light / Pos Power /2 Tier Requires 6 Past life points spent in this tree for tier 1.
    E2 Grants 5% Healing Amp +3 to concentration and is required for Completionist. / 1 Tier Requires 9 Past Life Points for tier 1.

    A3 Grants 5 HP 2 Elemental Resistances / 2 Tiers
    B3 Grants 2 to Summon Stats 5% Summon Fort / 2 Tiers Requires 1 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    C3 Grants 10 HP, 2 to Summon Stats 5% Summon Fort / 1 Tiers Requires 2 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    D3 Grants +2 Ranged Weapon Damage, 5% Summon Fort / 3 Tiers Requires 6 Past life points spent in this tree for tier 1.
    E3 Grants 10 HP 20% Summon fort and is required for Completionist. / 1 Tier Requires 9 Past Life Points for tier 1.

    A4 +1 Damage +1 SA Damage / 2 Tiers
    B4 +1 Tactical Feats +1 Save Vrs Traps / 2 Tiers Requires 1 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    C4 +1 SA Damage +1 Reflex Save / 1 Tiers Requires 2 Past life points spent anywhere for tier 1.
    D4 +1 Tactical Feats +1 Reflex Save / 2 Tiers Requires 6 Past life points spent in this tree for tier 1.
    E4 +2 Damage +2 Save vrs Traps and is required for Completionist. / 1 Tier Requires 9 Past Life Points for tier 1.

    A5 Grants +1 HP and SP per level up to level 20. / 2 Tiers
    B5 Grants 1 Elemental Resistances per 4 Levels up to level 20. / 2 Tiers
    C5 Grants 1 to all Saves. / 2 Tiers
    D5 Grants 1% to hit and AC. / 2 Tiers
    E5 Grants 5 PRR / 2 Tiers
    F5 Completionist Merit requires A5 + B5 + C5 + D5. Cost 2 Past Life Points and does not stack with the Completionost Feat.

    Maximum Past Life Point Possible is 39. Points to get Completionist Merit is 15. Completionist Merit still requires 1 of each class.
    Every Primary Tree can be capped but only if Completionist is not taken and tree 5 is untouched.

    Your input would be helpful. This is not intended to make past lives Vastly more powerful Just more versatile. With rewards for heavy TRs.

    Okay ... now that April Fools day is over. This was not a joke. I would like some input.

    So basically, you want players to be able to exchange past life's of wizard/sorc/arti, cleric/pally/fvs/bard, barb/druid/rngr and monk/rog/fgtr?
    That which does not kill you gives you experience points.

    (Fighter->Fighter->Fighter->Monk->Monk->Barbarian->Paladin->Ranger)

    Seems overly complicated compared to the system we have and maybe a little over the top. Not sure I agree with how you split up the classes either.

    Yeah. Bards are Arcanes for a start. They use Arcane energy and can manipulate it to mimic Divine energy when casting healing type spells.

    Red face

    Mastikator: Mostly yes but not entirely. Within a grouping you could, and could even get them all if you had enough. Also 12 of them (not counting chosen feats) could be used in another tree if you had no use for any 1 of the other 4 trees.
    Uska + Archangel666: Bards, Clerics, and Pallies all have Turns / Songs which are a similar mechanic. Items that boost either boost them by the same amounts. By placing them together you increase the usefulness of selecting an enhancement. If there were more Bard Cleric splashes out there it might be a balance issue, but I've yet to see a lot of DV3 crowd controllers.

    Turbine agrees with Barb Druid Ranger. I don't have to justify that line. Same with Monk, Rogue, Fighter.

    The only thing in contention here, the place I differ from turbine's default is bard. As the bard past lives play very nicely with grouping them up as I did. It seemed the least wasteful of an enhancement slot. Please keep in mind TRs often build to fill a role and don't generally card if their fire wall is an arcane or nature spell unless they are going against someone like the Wiz King. (Yay for druid getting a later fire wall.) So the question is not "Should bard be moved?" the question is "Can bard be moved and maintain balance?"

    All this said there is the issue of splitting out the things the sorc/wiz/arti skills adding 3 tiers of stuff and watering them down. There is so much over lap and it's all really good. I can't just place the Songs in C1, I'd have to add 3 whole tiers to that tree. Likewise I'd have to remove 3 tiers from the 2nd Tree. Any advice on how to "move bard" cause I'm at a loss without watering down every ability in the 1st Tree to almost useless alone.

    There is another option altogether. Remove any sense of "grouping" and just have the trees as are. Past life in barb can get you 1 from any tree. As an example.

    Like the system we have now a milion billlion trillion times more it just needs some adjusting to some of the ED's to make them worthwhile your system would never work but it doesn't hurt to put forth your fantsy.

    You should only get the benefits of a specific class past life not a group, You shouldnt get the samething from a wizard life as you would a sorc life just because they are both arcanes they arent that much the same.
