    Default Clonkcher?

    Cleric/Monk arcane archer build. Can it be done effectively? I am curious how you might do it if so. Race would obviously be half-elf. Clr17/Mnk3? Clr17/Ftr1/Mnk2? Focus completely on archery or try to fit in some melee as well? Anyone playing anything like this at the moment? I am looking for something interesting to TR a cleric of mine into so I can do more than just heal and light damage.

    If you want to keep your heals good enough to heal a party, I don't think you can effectively slot in ranged. My first thought would be something like 12 cleric/6 monk/2 ranger

    2 ranger being for the free feats
    6 monk: 10k stars, fists to fight, 3 feats
    12 cleric: Your request . Decent selfheals, buffs, blade barrier kiting while shooting ranged :-)

    I'm not sure what you mean by this. In order to keep the heals good enough to heal a party, the only things that will matter are
    Empower Healing
    Empower
    Maximise
    1 Devotion gear slot
    10 AP spent on Life Magic I-IV

    That's all there is. If you're a Cleric and want to make your Aura of Urine work better, then you can throw up to another 12 AP into Aura of Life/Aura of Incredible Life, but those lines are irrelevant for Heal/Cure spells.

    For Epic Destinies, if you really want to throw out all of the healing that you possibly can, then twist in Endless Faith and Healing Power.

    It really doesn't take very much effort to build a character that can heal a party. Building a character that can melee effectively or that can pew pew or use offensive spellcasting (or two or all three of those options) with the remaining feats/AP/Epic Destinies isn't a cake walk, but it's what building a Divine caster is all about.

    See my Radiant Archer thread and wowo's monkcher thread. Short answer: it's a doable combo, but you're gonna wind up sacrificing either ranged DPS or casting (or both) to pull it off. Just not enough feats, stat pts, etc. to be good at everything as a clonkcher.

    I'm actually more intrigued by "drunkchers" at the moment; e.g., monk 6 / druid 13 / wiz 1. Monk gets you 10K Stars, druid 13 provides Fatal Harrier + lvl 7 spells + forms (thinking winter wolf for occasional melee w/Stunning Fist + Takedown, water elem for Freezing Spray + cold spells), wiz splash for AA pre-req + extra meta feat. Plus nobody expects druids to be main healers like they do with clonks, so you can get away with flavor builds like this more readily.

    Yes, and with that build he can't reliable spec in ranged: You get like 9 or 10 feats + epic
    Quicken
    Empower heal
    Point blank
    Rapid shot
    Weapon focus ranged
    Improved critical
    Manyshot
    Precise shot
    (Improved precise shot)
    Toughness
    Precision
    Stunning fist
    Two weapon fighting

    Last 2 feats would be a waste on a clonk, which is why the splits you mentionned never would work very well. The split I mentionned might have decent ranged but can't mass heal. I hope this explains what I meant a little better

    Default Radiant Archer

    I have a 13 Cleric/6 Monk/1 Wizard : Radiant Archer to level 21 as of today.
    Radiant Servant 2, Ninja Spy 1, Arcane Archer (slayer arrows)
    I have Manyshot and 10k Stars running all the time.

    Heals compared to a healing spec'd cleric are average. I can't afford all the feats, missing Empower and Maximize, however I do have Emp. Healing, Devotion 100+ and Sup. Lore for crits. I would equate my healing ability to a Druid. Probably not the main healer, but definately good enough to be the 2nd healer, or main healer in a good group.

    Understand however the goal was not to max out healing ability. After I got slayer arrows, DPS became good but not great. This is something I'm working on...

    I TWIST Enlightenment from the Grandmaster of the Flowers to give me extra ki and ki regeneration, otherwise the 10k stars is difficult to power all the time.

    I'm currerntly building my Shardi Champion Destiny as it seems to be the best fit.

    My question to the forum group is what gear/twists/tricks can I look for to maximize ranged DPS at the end game?

    If you have any question on this build, be glad to answer. It is definately a fun build to play.
