    Default ED Farming and You

So, I have almost farmed out all of the EDs to max out my fate points. I'm a Sorc so I plan on using Draconic, Magister or Shiradi depending on what I am doing when I'm done farming. So, I have maxed out tier 5 in each of these.

My question for you is this, when you farm out the other EDs, you only need to get to tier 5 to get the fate points. You don't actually have to farm all the ranks in tier 5 and if you will never use that ED, why farm those useless ranks?

One possible answer is because as the cap goes up, ED levels may go up and you want to be ready toe level them up. I don't think this is likely. The way they are built, I bet they stay at 5 levels even when the cap goes up.

That being said, I feel like something is incomplete without farming the useless ranks. So do i give into my obsessive compulsive bend in this? Or do I tell myself that there is no point, go enjoy the game instead running that same quest over and over and over just to get useless ranks.

Always be obsessive and compulsive. Just do it. It must be perfect or you will always feel incomplete.

8 Destinies you won't use x 4 ranks at level 5 x 96,000 XP per rank = 3,072,000 XP that is providing you with absolutely no benefit of any kind.

Why not just run a third life TR? Same amount of XP, but you get something from it.
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.

    Hi,

I don't see any point in going past what is required for level 5 in each ED. You can go back to it later if it worries you. But don't be distracted from the main game, killing things which are weaker than you and taking their stuff.

In reply to Matuses' post he makes a good point in that the past life feats available to casters from TRing are quite good. Especially if you are a caster relying on spell pen or DCs.

But, by completing those other destinies, you will get fate points to let you twist in abilities from other EDs. This is useful. I run my main in either dreadnought or shiradi, but I like having twists from fury of the wild, shadowdancer and sentinel.

You will also find it quicker and easier, I suspect, to get xp at epic levels than at heroic levels. I certainly do. The amount of xp available for completing epic quests is pretty high per minute, even outside of the commonly farmed quests.

    Thanks.

If you want max twists then getting everything to level 5 is needed. Except for 7 last levels which will only give you 2 fate points- useless then. The best benefit of having every ed at 5 is when your toon is level 20. You get your full twists and eds at that level range it is godly.

I have all EDs at Tier 5, I just haven't completed Tier 5 to get all the ranks in tier 5. So I have gotten all the fate points I can get. I also have 3x casters lives and completionist at this point. Still have 2x Barb and 2x Pally to do and then I'll be done leveling for a bit.

Xiadias makes a good point though.

So you have completionist with ~20ish past lives and all EDs at level 5... and you wondering if you should be obsessive/compulsive? That ship has sailed my friend.

complete those past lives, then on final life (untill a new class comes along) swap the ED's in during levels 20-25 to get them the XP to farm these 'useless' ranks during normal leveling

Well, obviously don't start by getting those final useless ranks...but once you get everything to Tier 5 for the Fate Points, then you might as well go back and finish off the last ranks in everything. I mean...you're earning XP anyway just playing the game, right? Why not put it to some use? Even if it's only an esthetic and personal satisfaction use, rather than a power use.

    I did.

(I wouldn't bore myself farming Rusty for them, though. Like I said, just PLAY THE GAME, and they'll get maxxed like magic!)

I have a feeling maxing them all out will be what "epic completionist" is, but that's a total guess based on nothing besides them saying they were introducing epic completionist.

For now, seems like a waste of time, get another TR life or move on to a new character.

I hit level 5 and then move on. The only destinies where I get more destiny points are the ones I spend a lot of time on.

They may increase the ED level limit at some point. If they do, it won't really set you back much. But if you are in a good farming group and don't really need to stay if your primary destiny, there's no good reason not to if all your EDs are capped.

I imagine it more likely they will add new EDs. There is also mention of a new Epic TR function being introduced. If that has anything to do with EDs, it probably won't matter one way or the other.
