Purchased Epic Skyvault shield for 15 shards. Posted it to resell, mis-clicked the buyout and ended up reselling it for 4 shards. Awesome. So -1 to post, -15 for the item, +1 for the sale. Woot!

Had 10 posted items fail to sell. Most of them were cannith shards of potential. Reposted epic whisper chain, epic shadowmail, blade of fury, +3 icy burst bow of lacerating, and giant slaying arrows for lower prices (about 25 for the armors, 4 buyouts for everything else). So +10 from returned items, -6 for posted items.

Might have better luck if you weren't trying to sell stuff that's pretty easy to get and not terribly worth the effort.

The point is I'm not putting any effort into acquiring astral shards apart from posting stuff on the ASAH instead of the AH. I'm just posting items I would find in during my normal game play that I don't want and can't give away to buddies.

I'm just documenting how easy/difficult it is for an average player to acquire shards without spending any TPs on them or putting in any special effort farming items for sale.

50 Majors SP 150 Shards
Rare items I found while leveling this life but couldnt use on my fighter 20 shards

Bought two replacements off the Auctions house for 100k plat, not sure why the second one only sold for 3 but oh well

Total now is well over 600 with serveral items still up for sale. Bought the smallest guild ship so -600 shards, but now I have an xp shrine.

Wow, very nice Light! Well done! I'm sitting on a ton of collectible stuff and spell pots I should probably just clear out of my bank and sell to see what I get. (We need DDOGamer or DDOCast to do an episode of DDO Hoarder. :P) If I actually had something I wanted to buy in mind maybe I'd be try to make more off of it.

Not much activity this week. Got most of the stuff I posted back in the mail (not surprising) for a total of 12 items returned (+12 shards).

The only item I sold on the ASAH was an epic Leaves of the Forest for a net of 18 shards (+18).

I re-posted an augment gem and a wizard's ward (-2).

not too hard to figure out what was done here....if we all think a little bit...we would come up with a simple answer. plat, gold, copper and silver as well as astral shards all have distinct colors for their numbers....silver is well silver...gold is gold...copper is copper...plat is...kinda white...and astral shards are blue....are those numbers blue? no. the guildie in question simply moved his amount of plat over to shards. next time when you photoshop this, make sure you do the appropriate coloring scheme.

I suppose there could be some color shift from the cut and paste, but it looks like you might be right. The shard count in game is definitely the same color blue as the shard icon when I look at the inventory and shard exchange screens.

I bought 250ish shards just to do gold rolls and see what the prizes were like.

The prizes were....terrible. I was a little embarrassed and grumpy that I wasted the money.

I went through my characters and sold off all the items which I thought would have no immediate value to others but held no immediate or foreseeable value to me.

About 750 Shards to date. About 600 left after buying a couple items myself. I wish I had not wasted real money but I am less grumpy now.

Prices compared to real money - ridiculous.

However, prices once they are their own currency and players can earn them by playing game... stable and okay. Eventually.

The ability for everyone to give up their hordes of old junk for other new players to get more powerful, faster, at a buy in... fine with me.

As long as Turbine does not cave and create a way to move or transfer AS reasonably - we should be okay. If there ever is a path back to real money... we are in trouble. And Mr. 75,000 is a happy man.

I will not be surprised however to see people soon brokering an exchange of AS for TPs -- even if they have to take a big hit on the ASAH exchange to move them... would not be surprised to someone post that deal in these forums!
