Default A FR Drow born in Eberron

    Eberron Drow are very weak compared to their counter parts in FR, and they have a fair amount of negativity to their base stats, but I thought there has to be a way to make them less squishy. I don't have plans to build this 'yet', but it is an idea that I've been kicking around for a while;

I selected Khopeshes for the build for the sack of higher base dmg and larger crit range than the racial weapons of short sword rapier of drow but and not against taking a different weapon path for the build. Yes it does require at least a legend build to get the base stat pts, and my legend builds all have +3 or better tomes thats why I included them in the build and the are needed to get to the epic feats. Maybe someone can come up with some tweaks or has a better idea, just throwing this out there for the community at large.
I figure in the SD stance that will add to str and con and give a slight bonus to HP, add in a GFL item and a GS HP item and argo favor, should see about 600hp.
Still messing around with this so nothing is set in stone.
Enhancements were chosen just to get to the end and spend pts to get prerews for prestige classes so they may not be optimum choices.

You can also do this with a 1st life drow but need a +4 tome for either con or str, just drop either by one at character creation

For a build with higher Con than Dex and no gain from Int or Cha, why be drow?

Why not go human or half-elf for Damage Boost, Improved Recovery, and [feat or SA bump] instead of 2 Dex via enhancements?

I think he is shooting for flavor as well but to me FR tastes like sawdust. but if it is what he wants I say good for him. But it looks like a pnp drizzle smizzle build I saw once.

I'm thinking FR Drow are not getting the con penalty that Eberron Drow are, as well as the int/chr boosts, the FR Drow culture being more martial melee orientated. That's just a guess though.

As to why not go helf or human, like another person suggested, well then it wouldn't be a Drow and I'm building a Drow, for the same type of reason that I once built a half-ling barbarian, something fun and different. Any Race can be any class, some get slight bonuses or penalties and can not achieve the ultimate max whatever (Dmg, Spell DC, or what have you). Its a game, I build my characters on how fun i think they are to play, as long as they are effective at what they do and are survivable, I'm good, they don't have to be the best toons in the game, I'm not trying for that.

On a side note, I did find a server in which I unlocked Drow on and built this toon as a VetII character. After arriving in the market with the awesome starter gear that they give you, took the ranger gear, I ran to the bank to see if by chance I had stashed anything in there from any previous attempts at char creation or Favor farming runs and found a SS of pure good that I equipped as an off hand weapon to go with the starter +2 shocking rapier, and opened up the lfm panel to see if there were any groups I might join.
I saw the best thing ever in a lfm posting "Elite Carnival chain, all welcome", so I joined. Upon meeting up with the party outside the quest I saw that 3 of them were TR's, so figured that might hide the under-equipedness of my fresh faced toon.
So unlike the fighter that plummeted to his death for forgetting to equip a FF item while jumping over some rocks on the way up the mtn in small prob (not having a FF item, made not equiping it a wash) and I safely made it around. Or like the TR'd wizard that got lost 2x in a completely linear quest and needed directions to go forward, I survived the chain with 0 deaths, a feat that only the TR'd cleric in the group shared with me. I might not have had the most kills in all of the quests, or dealt the most damage in any of them, but I probably had the most fun, and that is whats important to me.
Now one chain does not make a build, but it did show me that I'm on the right path in my thinking on how to build this toon, and that the concept is at least valid.
For the sack of anonymity and not to shame others, I will not say which server I tried this on, but know this, if you ran a carnival chain recently with a dual wielding drow ranger, that was all done with starter equipment except the aforementioned +2 SS of pure good

All drow everywhere, even the Realms, have a 2 point Con penalty. This has been the case since 1st Edition Unearthed Arcana made them a PC race.

No, you are just confusing Monster Stats with PC stats. The drow you are fighting in FR are epic or near epic level high HD monsters. Their stats are made up as whatever the game dev felt like giving them.

A PC drow in FR would have the same stats as a PC drow in Eberron.

Standard Tempest I / Kensei II build aimed at newbies who just unlocked drow; has relatively modest tome pre-reqs (+1 DEX for GTWF, +2 STR for OC, +3 DEX if you want IPS). Deviations from the canonical Drizzt build: different base stats; rogue splash instead of barb (UMD, 1d6+3 SA, W&S Mastery I, Evasion); True Neutral instead of Chaotic Good (Stability items, immunity to unholy/anarchic/axiomatic dmg, no neg lvl from evil/anarchic/axiomatic gear); and rapiers instead of scimitars (for racial +2 dmg bonus and Balizarde is arguably the best 1H weapon in DDO...for now).

There are basically three feats to spare on this build; I used them for PBS, IPS (need +3 DEX tome), and Imp Sunder. You could use them for other tactics feats (e.g., Stunning Blow, CE+Imp Trip); or drop Imp Sunder for IC:Ranged; or add khopesh (would also need to switch to Slash instead of Pierce feats); or different DPS feats like Precision, Quick Draw, and Power Crit.

My hope is when the Enhancement pass finally comes along, we'll be able to add full Tempest line to drow melee builds like this.
