    Default Collector NPCs Feedback!

As of today's update (Update 17.1), Collector NPCs now function with a Barter Shop interface. We think this increases their accessibility and ease-of-use, compared to the "old" conversation-based interface. We also saw this as an opportunity to give players the ability to purchase low-level augments.

The intention was to increase the price of Augments to properly manage their supply in-game, but due to a technical constraint, all collectible turn-ins had their price increased. For upcoming releases we will be adjusting prices based on the barter value or availability of items, among other factors.

We hope to bring new and more interesting items to offer as well. What would you like to see Collectors offer? We'd love to get your feedback. Thanks!
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

Was the technical constraint someone at a meeting saying "The shards are too easy to get thru turn ins and the store sales will suffer as a result" ?

As for what they can offer on turn ins - how about guild augmented items. I would like to see the Guild augment system returned to the game plz.

I do not want a "random" augment(No matter how small the list is) when I turn in Collectibles.

I agree. There should be a definitive list. I'm not gambling with a "kobold" as it were, I don't care how cute Goldskuttle may think it is.

    this^^

Its too expensive and its random. I get that you need to balance it against coaxing people into the store. But to do that it only needs to be one or the other. Cheap and random or expensive with choice, currently I just feel that I'm being taken advantage of and that drives me to just ignore the whole system.

I agree. If it's random, it needs to be cheap. Also, there needs to be a cheap option for new F2P players. A new player doesn't have collectibles saved up, but they should be able to use the system.

It feels snarky to even explain this, but the pricing should be...either cheap but very grindy/repetitive in some way (accomplished by making it random) or expensive but quick (accomplished by paying TP/shards).

Too expensive for the free version to be used is upside-down, and as has already been expressed in multiple threads, just breeds resentment.

THIS - all day long. In two years of playing this game (almost 3, I think), I have NEVER collected a total of 30 ceramic bowls, much less the other items Husk wants in House K, as I checked into it last night. Collectibles were an interesting novelty as I pushed my first toon up to level 20, but frankly, the rewards were pointless. I suppose that's the idea behind this change, but it's creating a whole bunch of other problems:

    1. A barter price reduction makes sense... but it had better be a significant reduction - 5 or 6 ceramic bowls: definitely not even 10. 30/10/5 collections should therefore be 6/2/1 (20% of the current numbers). At those levels, then some limited farming for collectibles will make some sense... to the extent that you would actually have slots to use (i.e., Do I really need to farm for a specific augment for a weapon/robe/item that I will only use for 1 or 2 levels??).

    2. Easier access to large collectibles bags will be necessary. Even before this change, my Level 9 has both Small and Medium bags... and I'm overflowing now. Last week I would have simply deleted the excess, but now Turbine is encouraging us to keep all collectibles. There's no way I'm paying 500,000-800,000 plat to an auction for a large collectibles bag - or wiping out my paltry turbine points for one either.

    3. If the goal is to make crystal augments more accessible, then there needs to be a bag for these, too. [I'm not sure, but I think I may have heard this request from someone else... or was is everybody else?]

    4. But overall, I do not like this trend in the game toward more 'random' items after significant farming. This concept of bartering for a 'random' crystal is for the birds. Getting Epic items in Eveningstar with a random element on them is equally stupid. If I'm intending to dedicate some effort to a particular task, then I should be able to have some better surety of expected outcomes.

I know this is a game based on dice rolls, and I'm normally an entirely positive and optimistic sort, but there are limits, and I do believe that line has been crossed.

i would like to see the lower drop collectibles have reduced amounts to make up for lack of drops for example 30 skull fragments to me is way too high. they dont even drop that much unlike blades of six or string of prayer beads

My early impression is that the split of Common to Rare to Very Rare collectibles is off. I don't mind the quantities, per se, but as the drop rates of C/R/VR don't match the 30/10/5 split, that split seems off.

Personally I like the barter interface for this and having a viable use for the mass of collectibles we acquire, but it does feel a little limited at this point. I know it is early days yet, but it seems to me as if there should be a DT type combine/breakdown mech in there as well. That would make those collectibles still useful (if in mass quantities) to players above level 8.

Hahaha, that's really what you guys are gonna go with?

Pardon my disbelief, but the rates were working fine on Lamannia before you guys 'patched' it.

Ok, the barter system is great!

But the prices are way to high; as we said in the Lamannia theads when you uped it there.

That 30/10/5 price is fine for choosing the augment you want but not for a random... What The Feather!

Surprise! This is WAI! Who didn't see that coming?
When asked, "What are we going to do tonight?" the only acceptable answer is, "The same thing we do every night...Try to take over the world!"

I personally rolled over a thousand times on both silver and gold. filled backpacks. Can see the rolls in the lammania daily dice threads.

    • Commendations
    • Teleport Rod
    • Guest Passes

From Lammania - Most of these DO drop on the gold side - and some on the silver.
    • Siberys Dragon Shards (Feat Exchange ones)
    • Other Ingredients - seal of black abbot - seal of stormreaver
    • Shroud Ingredients / Yellow Dopant? Shavarath Signet stone

    • Adamantine Weapons
    • Byeshk Weapons
    • Adamantine Armour
    • Adamantine Shields
    • Mithril Armour
    • Mithril Shields

    As for the Augment Costs:
3/2/1 is fine for a random Augment
30/10/5 is too expensive even for specific Augment, and ridiculous for a random item you may not ever want.

    Both constructive lists of suggestions.

I agree 3/2/1 at MOST for random augments, and I'm hesitant about fully agreeing because I don't see F2P or new players being able to get useful augments out of this system.

The rare ingredients should be traded for rare items. Augments are not rare. They're in fact disgustingly common (which is probably good to help people fill in all their new slotted gear).

A rare item is gear made from a special material, an already crunched dragon shard/soul gem, those hams people are so fond of, etc.

So, it is confirmed the price change is WAI for augments but not for the rest? Fair, I guess.

How about putting harm scrolls/potions in Dannato, if you haven't already (haven't check the game yet)?

Still wondering when Turbine manages to do something that actually works as intended on release...
