You dont ´HAVE to link you rcredit card to your childs account. You can buy a code. The ones defending turbine ar eno more mindless than the ones bringing up any concerns they may have. Especially since i must admit a lot of the concerns are rather mindless (Not that the defenders are always geniuses). Usually though, the ones making the attacks are the ones belittling the ones defending, since the ones that enjoy the game CLEARLY must be stupid. ANd that has brought on a culture of attack and defence that is beyond proportion.

Anyways, if your kid plays the game, and you wish to keep him/her from using daily dice, dont have a creditcard linked to the account. Buy point codes once a month or two. That way he cant spend any more than the points you have bought. You could also make certain that he/she spends them on something other than shards.

I totally spent all mah shards! A tiny little thingy on my icon pops up, and obv you haz to click it.

So, There I was, bewildered by this shiny metallic box from the future. With dice- who doesn't love dice? And the promise of rolling said dice for rando loot. It could even be a boat!

Felt like being in a casino. For all of 4 seconds...

Luckily I only had like, twelve shards. So I'm okay, but I only noticed because it asked me to buy more shards. Thwarting my repeated attempts to spam the mouse button.

I can relate to that sentiment; I am no fan of the nanny-state.

However, too often the truth is in the fine print, while the marketing of a product is very deceptive. [EDITORIAL: Like the breakfast cereal that claims the "good news" that "whole grains" are the "first listed" ingrediant, as if the cereal were now nutritious. (Soft light, tractor -- symbol of a wholesome, rural America -- drives off into the sunset with friendly cartoon characters aboard.) Upon closer inspection of the label, one finds that the second, fourth, and fifth listed ingrediants are all sugars, adding up to a whopping 40% plus sugar intake. Now that's nutrituion a cereal company can bank on. -- end editorial]

I really don't want to see DDO sink to such levels. I'd rather like to continue playing this game without worrying too much. And, I'd like to think that this game was relatively safe for teens to play. That is when many of us started our D&D careers. Dungeons and Dragons is a fine game ... let us hope it stays that way.
