    Default Fighter/Rogue 1st life

To start this is for my wife. She plays PnP D&D, well pathfinder now, and loves fighter/rogues. I let start her own and she has come to realize, this isn't PnP . She is currently lvl 7 and I have a stone of exp waiting for her. She has asked that I fix and lvl her toon for her. As a 1st life not exactly sure how to do this. She has a free LR but is fighter4/rogue3 and insists on being an assassin. I am thinking Fighter 12/Rogue 6 or 7/??? But with only being first life, and I am not really the best at builds even with generators.

So what she is wanting is a Fighter in light armor, that can trap, evade, sneak attack ... Has to be human and has to duel wield bastard swords. PLEASE HELP.

Ftr 12 / rog 8 is a solid combo: Kensei II, a goodly amount of sneak atks DPS, Imp Uncanny Dodge, W&S Mastery III. If the last two don't matter, she could splash, say, barb for +10% run speed or monk for extra feats & handwrap usage (so I've covered if she's lawful or not ).

Is this a 28- or 32-pt build? Have you taken any tomes etc. yet?

one thing to consider: is she says she wants to be an assassin, the assassin prestige isn't really that great until assassin II, which is when you gain the assassinate ability. You'd need rogue 12 for that.

If she wanted a "real" Assassin, she should stay pure (or close to it) to max out her Assassinate DC (particularly on a first life). But since she's already got 4 ftr lvls and presumably doesn't want to start over, the best she could do is something like rog 13 / ftr 6 and I'm not fond of Kensei I.

Rog 8 / ftr 12 still provides solid TWF DPS (inc. 5D6+9 sneak atks), full UMD & trapskills, Evasion, and respectable survivability.

In that case, I would either put the extra pts into CON 16 or start STR 18 INT 10 and sacrifice the skill pts in Balance, Open Lock, and/or Spot. Also, has she already taken a DEX tome? She needs base DEX 17 to take ITWF & GTWF.

Thank you very much!!! Exactly what I needed. She has Champion 32 pt points.

As for assassinate ability, for now I just tell her this isn't PnP Even as an assassin, she rather likes pushing her way thru in the front of a party (hence the fighter in her).

    Again thank you.

Yeah we went 12 F/ 4 R ( going to go 12F / 8R ) for now. Waited until I had leveled her to 10 then had 2 tomes ( +2 Dex, +2 Con), all I have atm. Actually started with base Dex 15. And the extra 4 pts I had put into Int. Base 15. So she had more skill points to keep help keep trap and spot/search and stealth skills up. She is loving it.

Did talk to her about the faster swing of Khopesh, insisted on Bastard Sword still. Loves the way it looks. Also after reading alot the feats, we decided not to go Power Attack, Cleave, G Cleave.... instead went Dodge, Mobility, Spring attack. Figured she needed defense over 5 points damage ( no Power Attack enhancements I know of for Fighters), and this way she also has a much higher to hit rate, even when moving. Helps give her a somewhat Assassination she wanted. Being able to stealth up, in a few cases we found right up next to the Bosses and get a few hits from behind. To her thats better then short teleport assassination/Vorpal hit from PnP. Tried it on a few lower level ( 7 - 10) elite beholders, and she was more then pleased.

    Thank you for the help.

Edit: Did put some points into UMD as well, crafted a UMD trinket +10. Able to use wands/scrolls up to serious.

If you drop the PA/CL/GC chain, you lose access to Overwhelming Crit as well as Lay Waste & Momentum Swing from Legendary Dreadnought. CL&GC are 2 of the few AoE atks that a TWF build can get; Whirlwind is the third, but it's not very good.
