    Default Deep Tar on self

In a recent quest I did, The Vault of Night, my character received the effect "Deep Tar" (a relatively common Double Rainbow effect at present). Despite initial healing, once I realised what it was, I allowed myself to die. It persisted through death, and once I was resurrected, killed me again. You can see it still on me after my second death in this screen shot:

Thankfully, logging out and back in removed the Deep Tar effect from my character.

My character was in the Draconic Incarnation epic destiny, and had the twists of fate: Double Rainbow; Prism; and Rejuvenation Cocoon. I am fairly certain that my Deep Tar effect was self-inflicted, though I am not positive there were no others in the party who were Shiradi Champions or had Double Rainbow Minus Rainbow twisted. I suspect the culprit is Energy Vortex, since I think I noticed a correlation between activating it and taking large damage (though I of course activated it when near many monsters). It could be something else though, perhaps Energy Sheath. Also, this combination of epic destiny and twists of fate is one I use quite often, so it's certainly not an issue that is common (presumably only 7% x some other small %).

I'm not sure if this is a known issue, but can anyone confirm that Energy Vortex is the culprit? Or if not Energy Vortex, what might be?

I thought you cannot twist double rainbow by just twist prism and double rainbow, because you have to twist rainbow as well...or are you using the shears...thing?

You have been able to twist Double Rainbow by twisting Prism and Double Rainbow for a while now (though it used to not work). It is called "Double Rainbow Minus Rainbow" when you activate Prism.

    What is the shears...thing?

The T6 ability that casts a fire swirl around you counts as a negative spell that can proc bad things on you. Be careful... you should probably bug it up, because I wont

I see, thanks. That is interesting, but not something I have done, and so not the source of this bug.

Thanks Zindro, that tier six ability is Energy Vortex and the one I thought most likely. I was using the lightning version but obviously it has the same problem as the fire version. I just submitted a bug report about it and included the URL of this thread.
